Holding such a sign is not very inclusive, is it?
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports:
Kellogg Community College eliminates administrator’s job in wake of Trump protestKellogg Community College has eliminated the position of Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer Jorge Zeballos. The move, announced to KCC staff in an email from President Adrien L. Bennings on Monday, comes after Zeballos came under fire from right-wing news outlets and others for holding a sign featuring expletives at a protest outside President Donald Trump’s Merry Christmas Rally at Kellogg Arena on Dec. 18.A since-deleted post on Zeballos’ Facebook page shows him bundled up holding a sign that read, “(expletive) Trump, (expletive) McConnell, (expletive) Graham.”He captioned the photo, “Can you tell I’m cold?”Zeballos is no longer employed by KCC. Messages seeking comment from him were not immediately returned Wednesday afternoon.Eric Greene, chief communications officer at KCC, said Bennings will assume the duties of the chief equity and inclusion officer and that the move was not related to the protest sign Zeballos was seen holding.”I don’t think it would be fair to say that had anything to do with this,” Greene said. “It had to do with the college being fiscal stewards of its resources, within any position at the college, there needs to be a clear demonstrated need.”Bennings, who became KCC’s president last month, “is leading the college through an institutional strategic planning right now, looking at everything within the organization top to bottom,” Greene said. “She has identified, as she said in her message, some initial priorities resulting in immediate reallocation of college resources.”
