Pete Buttigieg suggests Trump to blame for Iranians shooting down Ukrainian airliner

You just knew that in an era of pathological Trump Derangement Syndrome, Democrats would blame Trump for Iran shooting down a Ukrainian airliner at Tehran airport on the night Iran fired ballistic missiles at bases in Iraq housing U.S. troops. Iran fired the missile, there were no U.S. planes in action over Tehran and we were not firing at them, but somehow Trump would be blamed.

Laurence Tribe, the TDS-infused Harvard Law School professor, is going there:

Trump’s “flying in a tough neighborhood” & “it has nothing to do with us” were typical “who, me?” moves. Did it never occur to him that the plane filled with 176 souls would almost certainly never have been targeted by a trigger-happy Iranian missile but for the assassination?

As crazed at Tribe has become, he sets the tone for #TheResistance.

So it’s no surprise that an hour after Tribe’s tweet, a major Democrat presidential candidate, Pete Buttigieg, suggested the same:

Innocent civilians are now dead because they were caught in the middle of an unnecessary and unwanted military tit for tat. My thoughts are with the families and loved ones of all 176 souls lost aboard this flight.

Remember, there was no U.S. military action over Iran at this time. This was the night Iran launched ballistic missiles at us. We were not firing at them. Our drone attack on Soleimani took place several days earlier in Iraq, not even in Iran.

It’s insane, but expected at this point to blame Trump for what the Iranians did in Tehran.

Expect the Tribe-Buttigieg talking point blaiming Trump for Iran shooting down an airliner to become a key Democrat talking point. That’s how it works, the signal goes out and everyone falls in line, including CNN and MSNBC.

The responses are suitably indignant:
