Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii thinks you’re stupid. That’s the only conclusion any reasonable person could reach based on her recent appearance on MSNBC.
Hirono was offering her thoughts on the first day of impeachment proceedings in the Senate, and she said that the very idea that Democrats have been going after Trump since day one is a “conspiracy theory.”

Mazie Hirono (D., Hawaii) on Tuesday said Republicans are spreading a “weird conspiracy theory” that Democrats wanted to impeach Donald Trump since he became president.”What I found astounding was they’re still saying that we were out to get the president from day one, some sort of a weird conspiracy theory that I have to say, even [Supreme Court Justice Brett] Kavanaugh brought up,” Hirono said on MSNBC.Hirono was referring to Kavanaugh’s contention in his confirmation hearing that “anger about President Trump and the 2016 election” led to an onslaught of unproven allegations. Kavanaugh did not mention impeachment in his hearing.

Has Ms. Hirono ever heard of a member of her party named Maxine Waters? Over the last three years, she has developed a habit of shrieking “Impeach 45!” every time she gets near a microphone.

The media’s refusal to push back on Democrat talking points has made them lazy. This claim from Hirono is so easy to disprove, it is laughable.
It’s also another classic case of projection. Democrats and their media allies pushed the Russia hoax for three years. Still, Hirono dares to look squarely into a camera and accuse others of pushing a conspiracy theory about something that is not only well documented but has saturated our political discourse for three years.
The lie is not nearly as insulting as the credit she gives to our intelligence.
