CNN panel mocks Trump supporters as uneducated, ignorant hillbillies

Can we all just agree, Trump Derangement Syndrome has turned CNN into a total trash network? Like the proverbial broken clock, a couple of times a day they do actual journalism, but the rest of the time it is a broken network hemorrhaging viewers while devolving into self-parody.
There is no better example of how bankrupt CNN has become than a panel led by CNN star Don Lemon. One of his guests was NeverTrump “Republican” Rick Wilson, a failed political consultant who found new life by becoming the NeverTrump Republican cable news loves and who is cashing in by writing books with titles like “Everything Trump Touches Dies.” The other guest was New York Times op-ed writer and CNN consultant Wajahat Ali, who also is a “keynote” speaker on topics like multiculturalism.
Listen to it. It encapsulates the smug derogatory anti-Trump media attitude better than anything I have seen. This was no error or gaffe — it is who they really are. The fact that one of the most high-profile CNN hosts led the panel and laughed uncontrollably also tells you how CNN really thinks about Trump supporters.

Wilson got the party rolling by saying that “Donald Trump couldn’t find Ukraine on a map if you had the letter ‘U’ and a picture of an actual, physical crane next to it,” which sent Lemon into a hysterical fit of laughter. They were just getting started.
Wilson went on to sneer at “the credulous boomer rube demo that backs Donald Trump, the ones that think that” — and here he broke out into a Southern accent — “Donald Trump’s the smart one, and there all y’all, y’all elitists are duuuumb.” Lemon laughed even harder.
Ali chimed in: “You elitists, with your geography and your maps and your spelling.” At this point, Lemon was laughing so hard that he pulled out a handkerchief to wipe his tear-filled eyes.
Wilson, still in a faux Southern accent, added: “Your math and your readin!’”
“Yeah, your readin’, your geography, knowing other countries, sipping your latte,” said Ali.
“All those liiines on the map,” said Wilson, continuing to use the fake accent.
“Only them elitists know where Ukraine is,” Ali shot back, before seeming to half-realize that the panel had gone too far. “Sorry, I apologize,” he said with a smile.
Hillary calling Trump supporters “deplorables” seems downright quaint by comparison.

What keeps CNN in business is airport screens inflating viewing numbers, even if those at the airports have their faces buried in a book, a reading machine, or a cell phone.
Another thing: if cable companies ever allow a la carte channel selection, most of the cable news networks will die rapidly.
I recently had a bazar series of flights across the US, in fact all the way from east to west coast (Alaska). And one thing that I found was that many of the terminals did not have TVs, they had been removed. The one in Alaska had a series of TVs but they were tuned to FOX.

In a moment of truthful reflection the day after the election, the San Diego Union-Tribune observed that DJT won by persuading a lot of Democrats to vote for him.

If this were comedy central, then no one would care. The fact that this was supposed to be a nightly news program on a 24 hour news network is where the hypocrisy is worthy of challenge. That is so true, Glenn. I attended a “ethics complaint hearing” in Gwinnett County, Georgia that arose out of a panel discussion on the 287(g) program to deport criminal illegal aliens, and of course, the foreigners who work with the illegals, repeatedly claimed they didn’t feel “safe” by someone who advocates enforcement of the law.
“He takes pictures of people at the Capitol. It makes us feel unsafe.” What?! Conniving manipulative foreigners.
All six of CNN’s remaining viewers laughed as well.
