University’s Attorney Resigns After Using the N-Word During Free Speech Event
“Several members of the audience became outraged”
She was using the word as an example of bad speech which is still protected, but it sparked outrage.
FOX News reports:
Texas university attorney’s use of N-word during free-speech event prompts resignation
A University of North Texas attorney resigned Friday less than 24 hours after she used a racial slur while giving examples of free speech at an event called “When Hate Comes to Campus.”
Assistant general counsel Caitlin Sewell was speaking in a panel discussion Thursday when she used the N-word word, FOX 4 of Dallas reported.
“You know, you can say a lot of offensive things in here because it’s impossible to talk about the First Amendment without saying horrible things,” she said in front of an audience. “Um, you know, ‘You’re just a dumb n—– and I hate you.’ That alone, that’s protected speech.”
Several members of the audience became outraged, questioning Sewell about why she would choose to say the N-word but then later censor herself instead of using the F-word.
So my sister goes to UNT and they recently had a event titled #WhenHateComesToCampus about free speech and apparently the Assistant General Counsel of UNT at this event said the N word and later “dumb n-word” to describe free speech. This is the aftermath of her saying that. pic.twitter.com/9LDy7mg2xD

I wouldn’t resign, just buy a pistol for self-protection and wait for someone to fire them. FREE SPEECH is the issue, use it or loose it – but don’t just toss it away!
The ones offended and outraged use the word every day amongst themselves. Bet on it.
