Deval Patrick Cancels Event at Morehouse College When Only Two People Attend
“a starkly empty meeting space”
How awkward. People don’t seem very interested in the former Massachusetts governor’s candidacy.
The College Fix reports:
Democratic candidate cancels campus event after just two people show up
Deval Patrick, the former governor of Massachusetts who recently announced a 2020 presidential bid, cancelled a campaign event at Morehouse College on Wednesday night after only two people showed up to it.
CNN reporter Annie Grayer posted on Twitter that Patrick “was supposed to have an event at Morehouse College [on Wednesday]. An organizer with the college who planned the event told CNN that Patrick cancelled the event when he arrived and learned that he would not have an audience.”
A picture posted by Grayer showed a starkly empty meeting space in which none of the approximately 100 chairs in the room had anyone seated in them.
Grayer noted that “two people came” to the event, though CNN later reported that those attendees “told CNN that organizers of the event asked them to attend as they were passing by in the hallway.”
