California regularly experiences Santa Ana conditions that can spread wildfires. Major wildfires have occurred since 2003 that have ravaged various regions of the state causing significant loss of life, property, and resources.
Despite the science behind the fires, state politicians still promote the climate crisis agenda and not moving toward meaningful solutions.
Now, at least three citizens have died in the most recent blazes.
The fires that have hit Southern California have been linked to three deaths as officials on Sunday continue to gain ground.In the Saddleridge fire that swept across the San Fernando Valley foothills, a man in his late 50s died after suffering a heart attack while talking with firefighters early Friday.In the Sandalwood fire that burned dozens of mobile homes in Calimesa, two people died.
Instead of focusing on truly urgent matters, our governor and legislators have been trying to increase their virtue signaling capacity.
To start with, Governor Gavin Newsome has signed into law a bill that guarantees all students a state-funded meal of their choice, even if their parent or guardian has unpaid meal fees. This is to prevent “lunch shaming.”
In a statement Saturday, Gov. Gavin Newsom thanked Ryan Kyote, a third-grader at an elementary school in Napa County who brought national attention to the practice by paying for all the food service bills of his fellow students at the school.Under the new law, a school can no longer give a student a cheaper alternative meal.
Not only do we take our climate policy from children, but out fiscal policies as well.
Next, California has become the first state to ban fur sales...killing a segment of our fashion industry and personal choice. The new bans join the virtue-signaling insanity including ending profit prisons and immigrant detention centers and prohibiting small-sized hotel shampoo bottles.
The new fur law, which takes effect in 2023, was lauded by animal rights activists despite fervent opposition from the billion-dollar U.S. fur industry and threats of a lawsuit from the Fur Information Council of America.”California is a leader when it comes to animal welfare, and today that leadership includes banning the sale of fur,” Newsom said in a statement. “But we are doing more than that. We are making a statement to the world that beautiful wild animals like bears and tigers have no place on trapeze wires or jumping through flames.”A spokesperson for the Fur Information Council said in a statement the new law is part of a “radical vegan agenda using fur as the first step to other bans on what we wear and eat.”
Interestingly, the California First Lady has been photographed wearing…fur.
Finally, California Newsom’s pen flew this past Friday, as he signed 15 gun-related bills into law Friday, which included the nation’s broadest seizure rules.
One of the bills, which expands a so-called “red flag” law to allow co-workers, employers and educators to seek gun violence restraining orders against firearms owners they fear are a danger to themselves and others, was vetoed twice by Newsom’s predecessor, Jerry Brown.Newsom also signed a companion bill allowing the gun violence restraining orders to last one and five years, although the gun owners could petition to end those restrictions earlier. The bill also allows judges to issue search warrants at the same time as they grant the orders. The warrants can be used immediately if the gun owners are served with the relinquishment orders but fail to turn over the firearms or ammunition.
I know states are supposed to be the laboratories of Democracy, but California is clearly being run by Dr. Frederick Frankenstein…”Young Frankenstein.”
