“Resistance by Whistleblower” Was Part Of The Anti-Trump Plan From The Start

DOJ employee in February 2017 predicted resistance by whistle-blowing, leaking to the press, and lodging internal complaints

What is happening now to President Trump was predictable. The plans were laid in plain sight, including the use of whistleblowers to disrupt the administration.

It is instructive to look back and realize that there was plenty of advance warning of the various attempts to set up grounds for the impeachment of President Trump. The basic approach was clearly described, and it is difficult to avoid the notion that this was planned from the start.

Consider, for example, this excerpt from an article published in Vanity Fair on February 1, 2017, twelve days after Trump’s inauguration [emphasis mine]:

Others, however, view resistance as a part of the job. “Policy dissent is in our culture,” one diplomat in Africa, who signed the letter circulating among foreign diplomats, told The New York Times. “We even have awards for it,” this person added, in reference to the State Department’s “Constructive Dissent” award. One Justice Department employee told the Post, “You’re going to see the bureaucrats using time to their advantage,” and added that “people here will resist and push back against orders they find unconscionable,” by whistle-blowing, leaking to the press, and lodging internal complaints. Others are staying in contact with officials appointed by President Obama to learn more about how they can undermine Trump’s agenda and attending workshops on how to effectively engage in civil disobedience, the Post reports.

Let me emphasize that again: whistle-blowing, leaking to the press, and lodging internal complaints.

And then we have this, from the same article [emphasis added]:

When asked how the opposition emerging at this stage compares to past administrations, Tom Malinowski, who served as Obama’s assistant secretary of state for democracy, human rights and labor, sarcastically told the Post, “Is it unusual? There’s nothing unusual about the entire national security bureaucracy of the United States feeling like their commander in chief is a threat to U.S. national security. That happens all the time. It’s totally usual. Nothing to worry about.”

The “nothing unusual” part was sarcasm, of course. But the rest was deadly serious. Indications are that a plan was in place from the start, and it’s not some wild conspiracy-mongering to say so because although this may be a clandestine conspiracy it is not a completely secret one in the sense that we were told about its general thrust in advance by the proud perpetrators themselves.

Mollie Hemingway of The Federalist also noticed the trend back in the beginning. She wrote the following in an article from January 17, 2017. That’s a few days before the inauguration:

Dwight Eisenhower warned that if we didn’t stay vigilant, the military-industrial complex would start creeping into politics with pernicious motives all its own. The intelligence community’s war of leaks against Trump before he’s even taken office is just the latest questionably politicized action in the decades since Eisenhower’s farewell address. And it’s safe to say that the intelligence community pushing unproven and absurd allegations about a president-elect’s sexual perversions is probably way worse than anything Ike imagined.

In order to understand how we got to this perilous place and get a handle on what’s going on, it’s worth taking a closer look at the motives and allegations of political operatives in intelligence agencies, as well as the basic timeline of allegations of Russian electoral interference in the last few months. Far from discrediting Trump, it paints a worrisome portrait of the deep state gone rogue, desperate to stop a man who, whatever his considerable flaws, is an outsider to Washington.

She then goes into a series of warnings issued to Trump to beware of ruffling the feathers of the intelligence community. The most famous one, with which you might be familiar, was issued by Chuck Schumer:

…President-elect Donald Trump is “being really dumb” by taking on the intelligence community and its assessments on Russia’s cyber activities.

“Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you,” Schumer told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.

Remember, this was before Trump was inaugurated.

More:

Presidential historian Timothy Naftali said on a CNN panel that Trump should stay “silent” lest harmful information be released against him.

NeverTrumper David Frum wrote a tweet that said, “CIA message to Trump: you mess with us, get ready for a leakstorm of Biblical proportions.”

The rest of Hemingway’s article is well worth reading, despite its age. Or maybe because of its age. It’s a reminder of how many things happened very early in the game that are congruent with and that basically telegraphed what would happen with Russiagate and now Whistleblowergate.

The intelligence services, all of them, have to be torn down and rebuilt from the ground up.

The same thing has to happen to the State Department.

And probably the law enforcement agencies as well.

Yes, yes, yes. We face the equivalent of Hercules cleaning the Augean stables.

One might even think that President Trump would be extra motivated to pare down the monstrous size of the Federal Government. Future Presidents, elected politicians etc will always be under the gun if the bureaucracy isn’t culled and corralled. All Federal agencies need trimming, especially the State Dept., and the Justice Dept. And many anti-corruption reforms must become law. But then again, who is going to write, and pass the legislation? Today’s hapless, weak republicans? The republicans in the Senate, and some in the House are pathetic in defending our President and the American people in general.

Every department, agency, etc. of government has been packed with leftists through the last several administrations, and they are intent on imposing their policies on government, not Trump’s. Unless Trump recognizes this and appoints department heads, etc. who see their first responsibility as purging their political enemies from the bureaucracy, Trump will accomplish very little of his program (if he survives their attempts to remove him).

Put intelligence in the military. They already have intelligence services, they can police their own much better.

Close the FBI, not needed, never was.

Sadly, TheOldZombie is correct. Praise to the wisdom of Old Zombies.

If this has been planned from the start – and I believe it has – then why now?

I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised that Ginsburg is worse off than is publicly known.

Somewhere I read the Dems want to wrap impeachment up quickly – a vote before the end of the year … in so doing are the Dems signaling Ginsburg’s time table and so the Dems hope to quickly hang the “impeached” label on Trump to halt or taint his next nomination?

MrE in reply to MrE. | September 29, 2019 at 10:34 pm

One way that makes some sense strategically for the Dems, they’d be hard pressed to bring the kind of attack to Amy Coney Barret they did to Kavanaugh – they’d alienate a LOT of women voters and Catholics before November 2020. So the better way to preserve their female voters is to hang a big red “I” on Trump and thereby attack ACB indirectly or prevent her nomination altogether.

PrincetonAl in reply to MrE. | September 29, 2019 at 10:41 pm

Mueller failed – this is plan B. (Or C or D) – and they are behind schedule.

Because they need to impeach this year. Even the lowest information swing voter could see an impeachment in the midst of an election next year as political meddling.

So they need to get going now.

There are a couple of theories about timing:

    1) The Democratic candidates are so horrid that Impeachment Theater draws attention away from them.

    2) Some serious news related to Durham’s investigations are about to be released.

    3) Democratic panic over internal polling numbers related to Trump’s re-election.

    4) Ginsberg’s health…which I am betting is rapidly declining.

    5) Trump has got his hands on Clinton’s 33,000 emails and is about to have fun with them.

    6) All of the above.

I’ll drink to All of the above!

      7) they’re simply divisive human trash.

Latus Dextro in reply to Leslie Eastman. | September 30, 2019 at 4:22 pm

“Beware the person with nothing to lose.”
As you elegantly outline, there appear several urgent and imminent reasons why this DEM smoke screen has been emitted. Altogether, it bears the hallmark of desperation. Fear has capture the miserable DEM cortices. The collective has finally awoken to reality poised on the cusp of electoral extinction and political oblivion. NP in her disintegrating dotage stated ‘she doesn’t care whether they lose the House’. It doesn’t matter to her, her tenure is done and she has already been deposed by the eco-neo-Marxist ‘squad’.
Temporarily ‘unifying’ the DEM party around a common political foe provides a brief salve to the painful inevitability.
      Evidence?
Pelosi sees no future while Schiff throws dignified pretence to the wind and performs a pantomime farce soliloquy, while the DEM/RINO collective gives a damn about justice, the truth, the future or most importantly America, their electoral choice and her people.
So, employing an Alinsky strategy to manufacture and capture the narrative, any narrative, fabricated or otherwise, to deprive POTUS DJT of political oxygen aided and abetted by the MSM is the last and only goal of the DEM.
They know they will lose the 2020 election, and with nothing to offer, they have nothing to lose

Well, they’re definitely trying to drive Trump down b/c they don’t have confidence in what they have to “sell” the voters.

your first item is close. the candidates are really bad. so bad in fact that there is no way they could beat trump, fairly. they are so bad they could not cheat and beat trump. this is the ‘hail mary’ for winning in 2020.

    oldgoat36 in reply to MrE. | September 30, 2019 at 6:03 am

It could be in part due to RBG, but there was far too much activity in Ukraine for it to be just an innocent part of the corruption with the Democrats.
    Crowdstrike is based in Ukraine.
That is the same outfit that claimed the DNC was hacked by Russia.
Ukraine had a lot of top people from the leftists over there. Podesta was there… which is odd. One of Hillary’s top strategic people was there… hmmm, why would that be? Obama sent a number of his top political strategy people there to assist the re-election efforts. This when in the middle of and near the end of the Presidential election here. Seems really odd when that would be a time greater need for their input here, doesn’t it?
Schiff had this leaked “whistle blower” complaint for a while, but other than hinting at it’s contents, he didn’t push it for near two months.
Internal polls are looking poorly for the clown car of leftist candidates. One of the Democrats – I forget which one – said if they didn’t impeach Trump he would be reelected. Hmmm, curious that the left thinks the only way to beat Trump is through impeachment, a very extreme means of pushing the results of an election.
I think the push now is because Trump or Barr has found something that is hugely harmful to the left. Barr doesn’t seem to be doing much, but maybe his passing on crimes might be due to something bigger that Comey can’t get out of.
There is something behind the scenes pushing this. Or someone.

*** One of the Democrats – I forget which one – said if they didn’t impeach Trump he would be reelected.***

That would be the GEICO caveman’s twin brother, Al Green. The left certainly can’t take the chance of letting those idiot voters have a say in who should run the country.

artichoke in reply to MrE. | October 1, 2019 at 12:10 am

They tried everything else first. This is high risk and depends on total news media cooperation to keep up the lack of balanced perspective.

They hoped Biden would be good enough they could squeeze him over the finish line in Nov. 2020. Now Ukraine blows up his chances, they’ve already been in the moving-on process, to Warren, or trying to get her to step aside for Hillary according to another story (yeah fat chance of that happening!) and Biden is still trying to fight back, demanding the news media freeze out Giuliani!

Before that they tried recounts, jiggering the electoral college, one thing after another, Mueller, now they’re out of alternatives, so they switched to impeachment *instantly* when they assessed Biden’s candidacy as mortally wounded.

It’s all calculated, cold as ice.

mueller: launched based on pack of lies.
Kavanaugh 1: 30 year old allegation neither provable or disprovable.
Kavanaugh 2: Launched based on pack of lies.
“Whistleblower” (illegal leaker): launched on pack of lies.

Trying to dress these lies and allegations up as legitimate/part of our legal process to get the outcomes they want versus the real outcome of 2016 is pure lawfare.

john brennan and his ilk are using old communist party tactics that rely on things he doesn’t have, which is a 100% state owned/run media, and the power to throw political opponents in jail.

The irony if he is indicted for crimes, and claims political prosecution will reach levels never before seen.

I’d change your Kavanaugh 1: Launched based on pack of lies 30 years old.

    PapawR1 in reply to CKYoung. | September 30, 2019 at 12:37 pm

The “state” does own & run the media. Not 100% but close enough for their purposes. It’s “amazing” how all these media corporations, supposedly with their own independent staff of investigators & reporters, just happen to reach the same exact talking point terms & words at the same time.
As Ben Rhodes said about the Iran deal, they created their own echo chamber. There is a reason most of the major media outlets all had family members of their employees working in the Obama White House. There is a reason why it was a mistake for Trump to appoint Reince Priebus as his first chief of staff who then brought in all the trustworthy legacy employees loyal to the party & swamp rather than Trump. I am thinking he didn’t realize just how deep the swamp was or that having an R or D after their name didn’t really matter. There are very few R’s in Congress using their power or voices to actually defend Trump or advance his promised agenda because that is not how the game is played where they take turns on who is the Speaker or Majority Leader while the basic agenda continues on it’s path. They refused to actually get very deep into the FISA abuse before they reauthorized it again. They refused to fund a border wall giving false promises they would do so if Trump would only sign the current funding bill now. The old Wimpy “I would gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today” was in full effect. Once he got his projects funded, Ryan refused to have the honor to resign as Speaker even as he retired on the job making certain that the republicans in the House who actually wanted to investigate & go after things couldn’t pursue anything. I believe that was why Gowdy & some others who appeared to be relatively honest decided to retire as well knowing nothing can be done from the inside.

Is Brennen the whistle-blower, or is it just one of his Minions?

Think the movie ‘7 days in may’

All of this while we are still an armed citizenry. Imagine what it will be like if they ever get our guns.

Right. Mark Levin suspects a “rogue CIA operative”. I don’t doubt him. Boy, oh boy, the damage that the Obama ‘Regime’ did to the reputation of the nation’s intelligence agencies is so far, incalculable.

artichoke in reply to OweCmon. | October 1, 2019 at 12:12 am

They’re doing it to themselves. Blame Obama for Obama’s sins, blame the CIA for its sins, etc. Don’t excuse the CIA because it was supposedly Obama’s fault.

Does the definition of a whistleblower require the information be about a dishonest or illegal activity?

Does the definition of a leaker require the information to be truthful or honest?

This person is nothing more than a political operative/hack. We need to stop granting this person the status of whistleblower because it submits to the leftist narrative.

The president is attacked by
“Partisan hearsay” not a “Whistleblower!”
Make it clear there are no facts here.

And for the environment, it’s “warmism” not the anodyne “clmate change” They said it was hotter and that’s wrong.

Finally, only ever talk about government billions. The left demands 20,000 billions of new spending, offset by mere billions of savings. Don’t let they lie-by-zeroes!

    Excellent points.

They are lying about winter temperatures. In evening hours around here in winter, when the temp. is declining from above freezing to below freezing, they’ll be saying it’s 40F on the TV, and my downspouts have already frozen.

This isn’t the closely watched daily high or low, but it affects daily average temp in a hard to notice way. And the cheating seems to get worse lately, consistent with them trying to show an entirely fictitious warming trend.

Excellent articles but impossible to forward to Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Need to find out what is blocking your articles. Maybe because they are too informative.

When Horowitz’s report comes out and states that mistakes were made but nothing rising to the level of criminality, one of my last hopes will be gone like a fart in the wind {to quote Warden Norton}. To mix a few metaphors, the frog is realizing the water is boiling and the fat lady is prepared to start singing for her dinner. Impeachment is the hill we need to make our stand on. If not, it won’t matter afterwards.

Ah, the “whistleblower”, or rumor-monger. More than twelve trimesters of witch hunts and warlock trials that have, quite poetically, labeled and judged the hunters and judges.

something the dems/leftists have failed to consider(or have arrogantly dismissed)is that words on a piece of paper, or lies made-up out of whole cloth, or their sympathetic/bought-and-paid-for media, or their ” position ” in our government(whatever that might be)somehow makes them untouchable

if the shyte really does hit the fan, they’re liable to be in for a dose of reality

Divert the river Alpheus.
In this context that meanszero-based staffing of the Deep State. Fire them all at 12/31
Only hire non-leftists. Same as the de-nazification program in 1946

This has nothing to do with an outsider president. It has everything to do with Federal unions, the DOJ,FBI and CIA hiring liberal exclusively since Bill Clinton and the GOP being oblivious. Reflect upon the CIA calling Bush a liar for saying Iran was trying to develop a nuke. That the project had been suspended. Two years later, we learned not only was Bush correct, but the CIA had secreted the very report that he was briefed on.

There is no longer an option left to those who try to believe their votes can change anything rather than have to resort to the reason there is a 2nd Amendment to begin with.
The swamp doesn’t even try to pretend otherwise any longer as they prove you will not elect anyone that can threaten us. Those red flag laws are NOT to prevent those who are unstable or supposedly make threats of violence. They are to disarm without due process or proving anything anyone who threatens the swamp and BOTH “sides” are in favor of them. The NFA of 1934 should have been ruled unconstitutional from the beginning instead of laying a foundation for everything that has followed. The Framers, at the insistence of the states, added the 2nd Amendment because they feared exactly what the centralized government has become. It’s why if the reason for the 2A ever explodes into action that trying to “fix” it at just the federal level will not work because the replacements for those at the federal level are already in training at the state & local levels & includes all 3 branches of local, state & federal governments that would have to be cleaned out.
Florida, a supposedly gun friendly state, passed their red flag law with a republican controlled legislature, signed into law by a republican governor & is now being upheld by Florida appeals courts…all 3 branches are in agreement & having an R or D after their name doesn’t matter at all. Allowing recently traumatized children in high school dictate what is or isn’t a protected right or a 16 year old child dictate global policy to the UN cannot happen without the adults in the room already being ready & willing to do it. Would anyone with any real common sense allow their child to dictate how their homes will be run, how the money will be spent & what the parents are or not allowed to do unless it’s what the parent already wanted to do anyway? How does a 9 year old boy tell the mother that he is really a girl & that mother agree & pay for puberty blocking drugs unless that mother didn’t really want a girl to begin with? In a “normal” world that would be considered child abuse just as it would be if you had a daughter suffering from anorexia & walked around telling her how fat she looked all the time because you are doing the same thing…encouraging & reinforcing a mental illness rather than trying to seek help & treatment for that mental illness.

if the dems/leftists prevail with this witch hunt and ” by any means necessary ” are successful in removing a duly elected president then we have dispensed with due process here in america–the rule of law will have ended at that point–there certainly won’t be any need for lawyers or judges(or juries, for that matter)allegations/accusations/gossip will suffice to deprive citizens of their liberty/life–behold the kangaroo courts

Welcome to the “Dictatorship of the Proletariat” 21st century. Stalin, in his wildest dreams, could not have imagined such an all encompassing surveillance state ruled by an technocratic bureaucratic oligarchy. The Progs are putting everything into play.
