Rice University Students Protest During Visit by Vice President Mike Pence
“Racist, sexist, anti-gay, right-wing bigot, go away!”
The left is simply incapable of showing any respect for anyone in the Trump administration.
The Houston Chronicle reports:
Rice students protest visit by VP Pence
More than 100 students protested Vice President Mike Pence’s visit to Rice University Friday with words and images portraying Pence as bigoted.
The students gathered across the street from the Baker Institute for Public Policy, where Pence was scheduled to speak on events in Venezuela. Various student organizations offered food and support services with opportunities to learn more about the U.S.-Venezuela relations.
Many students came with rainbow flags showing their support for the LGBT community and posters bearing words such as “VICE BIGOT,” “No to Pence. Yes to Peace,” and “Go Away Satan!”
Around 12:20 p.m., students practiced chants to prepare for Pence’s arrival.“Hey, Hey! Ho, Ho! Mike Pence has got to go!”
“Racist, sexist, anti-gay, right-wing bigot, go away!”
“Mikey, Mikey, can’t you see? Your budget cuts are killing me!”
Rice Left, a student organizer that helped plan the event, stated in email to the Houston Chronicle that the organizers were working with the university’s police department and administration “to ensure a successful, peaceful demonstration.”
“I am really excited about how all communities at Rice have pulled together in unity behind this event. There’s a 1,000 different reasons in this crowd to oppose Mike Pence, but everyone is here behind the same idea,” said Franz Brotzen, the president of Rice’s Young Democrats.

The left doesn’t do respect. But they’re really good at doing hate.
Rice’s mascot is the owl. Yeah, right.
This is way overblown, almost to the point of “fake news.”
100 students out on the street chanting are nothing. Pence went ahead and gave his speech, without a heckler’s veto. Big deal. Nobody expects the leftists to respect anyone except maybe Che Guevara.
I don’t think that’s what would have happened at Berkeley. There would have been thousands of masked Antifa goons out on the street, looting all the nearby businesses and shutting down the speech.
