If only it WERE that close to being buried. But the Dems are sooooo much better at playing politics that the GOP, I expect we will get some tweaks but no major changes. The Dems and the media (redundant) will endlessly remind anyone listening and reading that “polls show” over 50% don’t want massive changes, rather something closer to where the Dems want to head with healthcare in the first place. And they will bring up hundreds of news reports and perhaps 60 Minutes-style stories of those “unfortunate” hapless people whose lives are about to be threatened by those evil, immoral, greedy, um……racist (gotta keep that alive), mysogynist, kid-hating, brown-immigrant-hating, etc. Republicans.
the damage Obamacare has caused is probably one of the most destructive acts passed by congress. Never has congress so unilaterally destroyed bank accounts of middle class Americans. Most Americans don’t have an extra 10k in their budget for “insurance” which doesn’t really insure anything until your 10-12k into it.
Doctors have retired who will not come back. Providers don’t want to take new patients. Your options for treatment are far more limited than they were in 2007.
IF we recover from this (and I mean IF), it will take another decade.
It will take far more than a decade … if ever … me thinks. The cost of insurance will not go down unless the cost of services goes down. Until then all we’re doing is changing the pocket our insurance premiums are paid from.
However this means nothing until it becomes real on YOUR bank statements.
Due to all the regulations, health care is not a free marketplace. Competition doesn’t exist and it’s pure extortion at so many levels. –
Example- I dropped a lab sample off at the hospital as it was the only lab in 50 miles to do this test. They charged me an extra 50 dollars on a 70 dollar bill in order to check me into the hospital. You can’t opt out of that crap- it’s freaking extortion and they do it all up and down the chain.
Don’t expect your costs to go down fast. Sorry, but government will have to step in to kick some butts because this is not a free market.

Dare I say you nailed it?!?!?

We’re gonna need a bigger stake…
Plainly stated, Obamacare was not viable, it was a burden, the Choice was obvious.

Good sketch.
