Here’s a radical idea. Find out which students are causing this problem and bill them. Then make paying the bill a condition of their continued enrollment.

UNC Has Spent Over $390,000 Defending Confederate Statue From ProtestersThe University of North Carolina has paid police $390,000 to defend a Confederate statue from protesters between June 2017 and June 2018.UNC spent an additional $3,000 to “clean the monument after vandalism during the fiscal year” in a report obtained by Chapelboro.com. The $393,000 spent would have covered tuition for roughly 43 in-state students or 11 out-of-state students.A few hundred people protested the school’s Silent Sam statue in August after the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Va., and a history Ph.D. student allegedly smeared the statue with her own blood and ink in April. The student, Maya Little, faces a fall court date.UNC Chancellor Carol Folt wants to remove the statue, but believes that a 2015 North Carolina prohibits her from doing so.Seventeen senior UNC faculty members threatened to tear the statue down themselves if the university did not take action.
