Trump to Give Only One Graduation Speech This Year

Remember the way colleges and universities fell all over themselves to get Obama and members of his team to speak at commencements? How things have changed.

The Daily Caller reports:

Trump Is Only Giving ONE Graduation Speech This YearPresident Donald Trump’s commencement address to the U.S. Naval Academy is the only graduation speech he is giving this academic year.Trump delivered two commencement addresses in 2017 at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and Liberty University, reported The College Fix. Trump’s speech at the private Christian school makes sense considering Liberty President Jerry Falwell Jr.’s endorsement of the commander in chief during his presidential run.The president has not spoken at the University of Notre Dame, which routinely features presidential commencement speakers. The school has previously hosted former Presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama, but gave its 2017 commencement spot to Vice President Mike Pence, according to Inside Higher Ed.The vice president will address the conservative Hillsdale College’s graduating class this year, but other prestigious schools have opted for left-leaning politicians. Yale University will host former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Harvard will hear from Democratic Rep. John Lewis of Georgia, Democratic Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey will give a keynote speech at Princeton University’s graduation, and Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will speak to New York University’s seniors.
