President Trump hosts Sanctuary State roundtable with California #CounterResistance leaders

President Donald Trump hosted another roundtable with citizens this week. This one focused on California’s contemptible “Sanctuary State” polices, and he praised several California political leaders for fighting against Sacramento rules.

City and county officials from across the state who oppose California’s sanctuary-state law sat down with President Donald Trump Wednesday to voice their objections to the law, and they got a pep talk from the president who slammed the state for failing to crack down on illegal immigration. The officials, including San Diego County Supervisor Kristin Gaspar, hailed from counties and cities that have taken stances against the law, some by joining or filing briefs in support of a Trump administration lawsuit challenging it.”Each of you has bravely resisted California’s deadly and unconstitutional sanctuary state laws,” Trump told the group gathered in Washington, D.C. “You’ve gone through a lot, too, although it’s becoming quite popular what you’re doing. A law that forces the release of illegal immigrant criminals, drug dealers, gang members and violent predators into your communities.”California’s law provides safe harbor to some of the most vicious and violent offenders on Earth, like MS-13 gang members putting innocent men, women and children at the mercy of sadistic criminals,” Trump said.

One California mayor was very succinct in her assessment of Sacramento’s legislative antics.

“Sacramento is angry because they lost an election,” San Jacinto Mayor Crystal Ruiz said. “For God’s sake, get over it.”

Legal Insurrection has been monitoring the Sanctuary State battle within California. A number of conservative areas in the state have objected and joined that lawsuit, and several officials behind the battle were  invited to the White House.

“The state of California’s attempts to nullify federal law have sparked a rebellion by patriotic citizens who want their families protected and their borders secured,” Trump said. “They want border security and they want protection.”According to Fox 11, jurisdictions that have either filed amicus briefs supporting the federal lawsuit or who have joined it include Newport Beach, Orange, Huntington Beach, Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo, Fountain Valley, San Juan Capistrano and Yorba Linda.

The list has been expended with the addition of Santa Clarita, which should be very disconcerting to leaders of the #Resistance, as it is in the heart of a deep blue area.

Emotions ran high at Tuesday night’s packed city council meeting, where 200 people reportedly signed up to make public comments. The meeting lasted into the early morning hours, as council members heard from community members over the issue….Comments got heated at times, but when the council voted unanimously to file a brief to opt out of the sanctuary state law, the audience erupted into triumphant cheers.Santa Clarita is the fourth largest city in mostly Democratic-leaning Los Angeles County. It’s the latest city to voice its support for the Trump administration’s federal lawsuit against California over the sanctuary state law.

Hanford, California also voted to join the federal lawsuit against the Sanctuary State law.

One of the generals in the state’s War Against Trump responded to the roundtable with the grace and dignity we have come to expect.

However, I think the roundtable confirms something I have been trying to convey from the frontlines:
