Thank you for covering. Even with all the unnecessary hype, the President needs to give the SOTU. If he did not give the speech, the outcry would be the same as it will be when he gives it. He sounds so somber. [“Stormy Daniels” now claims nothing happened.]

disgraceful dems refused to applaud for Trump recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Even though a lot of them voted for it.

Yep, as I feared: mostly boilerplate. The testimonial stories were more over the top than usual. Trump tried to push his not-very-good immigration proposal again, but it looks like Democrats had no intention of accepting it, so no harm done.
WTH? Over the top testimonials? These are real people.
None of which will move the needle a jot.
Did you see the Democrats sitting there, not applauding for most of the SotU? Do you know why they did that?
Because their voters won’t punish them for it. In fact, they’ll probably reward their intransigence. That includes every “real people” story that you were referring to.
Something has to be done about that, and doing the same thing that got us to this point isn’t good enough.
It’s silly to think that any one speech could move the needle on anything; that’s not the point of these. The point is that Trump looked and sounded masterful and in control, and the Dems looked like a bunch of sad faced chumps huddled in their seats.
And it’s really about celebrating your accomplishments and filling your followers with hope and optimism for the future -that’s what this speech did.
Most SoTU’s are ridiculous – this particular speech was easily the best I’ve seen since a couple of Reagan’s early years.
I suppose the only way Trump could satisfy you would be to pull a gun out and start shooting D’s.
It’s a S of Union address, not a shooting gallery.
Although for Trump, metaphorically it was a shooting gallery.

It might help if you joined in instead of trying to constantly find a way to belittle the effort.

That Kennedy kid with his vacuous speech, what a way to show how detached from American reality Democrats are.
Not a single sane response from the Dems. What was up with the car with the hood up behind Kennedy? Were they working on it because it had been pulled out of a canal somewhere?

Don’t forget that Rosemary Kennedy was lobotomized by the family because she was rebellious as a teen and had mood changes, and they worried she would do something that would publicly embarrass them. Then they locked her up in an institution til she died.
And Robert jr. drove his wife to suicide by the way he treated her.
