North Korea has threatened America with “merciless” attacks due to the continued drills between our military and South Korea. From Reuters:
North Korea said the arrival of the U.S. strike group in the seas off the east of the Korean peninsula was part of a “reckless scheme” to attack it.”If they infringe on the DPRK’s sovereignty and dignity even a bit, its army will launch merciless ultra-precision strikes from ground, air, sea and underwater,” the North’s state news agency KCNA said.North Korea’s official name is the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.”On March 11 alone, many enemy carrier-based aircraft flew along a course near territorial air and waters of the DPRK to stage drills of dropping bombs and making surprise attacks on the ground targets of its army,” KCNA said.
The hermit communist kingdom has amped up its rhetoric against the world since officials fired four ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan last week. One came extremely close to Japan’s coast.
But one South Korean official said the launch may have included an intercontinental ballistic missile, which means North Korea could possibly have weapons that could reach the United States.
President Donald Trump’s administration has attempted to push through the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system to South Korea. But now reports have floated around that Navy SEAL Team Six has joined “the annual Foal eagle and Key Resolve exercises alongside the South Koreans for the first time.” The Foal Eagle continues through April and considered “one of the largest military exercises conducted annually in the world.”
South Korean news agency reported the two countries planned to take out North Korea:
U.S. special operations forces, including the unit that killed Osama Bin Laden, will take part in joint military drills in South Korea to practice incapacitating North Korean leadership in the case of conflict, a military official said Monday.The U.S. Navy SEAL Team Six will join the annual Foal Eagle and Key Resolve exercises between the two allies for the first time, along with the Army’s Rangers, Delta Force and Green Berets.”A bigger number of and more diverse U.S. special operation forces will take part in this year’s Foal Eagle and Key Resolve exercises to practice missions to infiltrate into the North, remove the North’s war command and demolition of its key military facilities,” the official told Yonhap News Agency asking not to be named.
A Pentagon official denied the report to FOX News, but a former commander said that is normal:
“That makes sense,” he said. “They should keep what they are doing secret and would never acknowledge movements.”Former Vice Admiral and Commander of United States Special Operations Command [SOCOM] William McRaven, in his book ‘Spec Ops,’ wrote “The purpose of tight security is to prevent the enemy from gaining an advantage through foreknowledge of the impending attack… A failed security effort could result in the enemy preparing a surprise of his own…” In other words secrecy is vital.”
