Obama Ends Special Treatment of Cuban Refugees
Ending the “wet-foot, dry-foot” policy
Less than ten days before President Obama vacates the Oval Office and his administration announced those fleeing Cuba would no longer be privy to automatic special immigrant status without qualifying for humanitarian relief first, thus ending the so-called “wet-foot, dry-foot” policy initiated by the Clinton administration in 1996.
