FBI Arrests Wife of Orlando Nightclub Killer in San Francisco

The FBI has arrested Noor Salman, the wife of Omar Mateen, who murdered 49 people at Orlando’s Pulse Nightclub.

A senior U.S. official told Fox News that the agency has “charged her in connection with the shooting rampage.”

WFTV reported:

FBI agents took Salman Mateen into custody at a home in Northern California, authorities said.Salman Mateen is charged with obstruction of justice and aiding and abetting the attempted provision of material support to a foreign terrorist organization. Salman Mateen will be transferred from Northern California to the Middle District of Florida, the FBI said. She is expected to face a judge Tuesday morning.

Mateen opened fire at the popular gay nightclub on June 12, 2016. Investigators interrogated Salman for hours after the attack. For the past seven months they contemplated pressing charges against her.

Salman quickly left Orlando with their four-year-old son after the attack and eventually settled in “her native California.” She spoke with The New York Times last October about their life after the attack.

We will update this post when officials release more information.
