Washington University Suspends Men’s Soccer Team Indefinitely Over Lewd Comments
“degrading and sexually explicit.”
Another day, another men’s sports team suspended over dirty talk. This is happening all over the place.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports:
Men’s soccer team suspended at Washington University following complaint by women’s team
Sexually explicit comments and other inappropriate behavior toward the women’s soccer team has landed Washington University’s men’s soccer team on indefinite suspension, the school announced Friday night.
Members of the women’s team alerted administrators to the alleged behavior on Wednesday.
In a limited statement, the university said comments made toward members of the women’s team in an online document from 2015 were “degrading and sexually explicit.” There are additional allegations, but because it’s under investigation, a university official declined to comment further.
Provost Holden Thorp said in a statement that the allegations “suggest an unacceptable culture.”
“Let me be clear: There is absolutely no place at Washington University for sexism, discrimination or harassment of any kind,” Lori White, vice chancellor for student affairs, said in a statement. “This alleged behavior flies in the face of the university’s core values of community support, diversity and inclusion, and we are firmly committed to conducting a timely and thorough investigation to address this matter.”

I want to see college/university do a suspension like this for their division 1 football or basketball team.
That will be fun to watch!
A number of these suspensions for alleged offensive tweets but not a single article reprinting those tweets so we can decide for ourselves how offensive they really are.
