The Clintons Donated Lots of Money to… Themselves

The Clintons Donated Lots of Money to… Themselves

Charity really did begin at home, aka The Clinton Foundation

It turns out the Clintons have been very charitable in their giving. The ironic part is that their own foundation was the greatest beneficiary of their philanthropy.

CNBC reports:

Clintons made $10.6 million in 2015, paid federal rate of 34%

Hillary and Bill Clinton released their 2015 tax returns on Friday, showing they paid $3.6 million in taxes on adjusted gross income of $10.6 million.

The release appeared to be aimed at drawing renewed attention to Donald Trump’s refusal to release his own tax records.

The Clintons deducted $2.24 million last year, and paid an effective federal tax rate of 34.2 percent and an effective combined tax rate of 43.2 percent. They gave 9.8 percent of their adjusted gross income to charity, according to a campaign release.

Of the the $1,042,000 the Clintons gave to charity as listed on their return, $1 million of that went to the Clinton Family Foundation. The other $42,000 went to Desert Classic Charities.

That’s a pretty good racket. Charitable donations to your own family foundation.

Hillary Clinton thinks releasing this information has given her leverage to criticize Trump.

That’s rich coming from someone who won’t release the transcripts of her Wall Street speeches.

This is all straight out of the 2012 playbook. As you may recall, Harry Reid spent every waking moment accusing Mitt Romney of being a tax cheat.

Rush Limbaugh had a good time commenting on the way CNN framed the story of the Clintons’ returns:

Clinton News Network Hilariously Reports on Clinton Tax Returns

Hillary Clinton has released — well, the Clintons have released — their tax returns. Some conflicting reporting. The first report was a 42% combined tax rate. Now they’re saying it’s effectively 30%. But here’s the deal: 96% of Hillary’s charitable donations went to the Clinton Foundation! (laughing) Yeah, 96%, they donated to themselves, and CNN just said, “Oh, look how much they give to charity! Aren’t they so wonderful?” Yeah.

You know, it was the funniest thing to listen to CNN talk about the Clintons’ tax returns. The infobabe was saying, “You know, Wolf, it’s really, really striking here that Clinton’s income in 2014 was nearly $30 million, and mysteriously, Wolf, their income last year dropped to only $14 million. That’s really, really strange, Wolf, I wonder. And then, Wolf, you know, 60% of the Clinton income came from Bill Clinton doing speeches.” And I’m looking at this infobabe and thinking, “Do you think we’re idiots here? You don’t think we understand that they could turn their income spigot off the year before she’s gonna run for president and do it on purpose?”

The woman that made $20 million in two years doing speeches? And then they were raving about how much money Hillary gives to charity. They didn’t tell us that 96% of Hillary’s charitable donations went to the Clinton Foundation. (laughing) I mean, you have to marvel at it.

True, one has to admire the fact that Hillary is immorally consistent.

From the Lincoln Bedroom to the Clinton Foundation, its all about the Clintons getting more and giving less.

Hey it works two ways. They deduct the “charitable gift” to themselves and then use the money from the Clinton Crime Family Slush Fund for everyday expenses like flying around the world to pick up bribes from foreign interests. You don’t think she had all those classified secret documents on her easily hacked server because she was too lazy to go to her office. It would be interesting to pair up the “donations” from foreigners with when various documents were put on that server. Maybe the foreigners didn’t have to hack into the machine.

When rolling your eyes is an effective argument, no one cares about Hillary’s fake finances. She should, at least, be wearing a ankle (cankle) monitor.

Is there a chance that those Wall Street speeches don’t exist, that she just took a bribe check marked speech?

Only Wall Street and Hillary know for sure. Oh and maybe the Russians.

I have not confirmed, but I saw a graphic showing that Hillary received several million dollars for speeches during the 6 month period of time that Bubba claims she was getting intensive therapy because of her fall.

If anything, they must have just wheeled her out on the stage and watched her drool and stare at the lights for 40 minutes.

Also, the $42,000 given to the non-profit organization for the golf charity resulted in that same non-profit then donating $700,000 to the Clinton Money Laundering Foundation.

It’s pretty obvious these speeches are poorly disguised bribes. It is possible that the Clintons, for at least some of the speeches, dropped all pretense and didn’t actually show up. An investigation of the Clinton’s actual whereabouts when speeches were supposedly being made would be interesting. It is quite amazing that even though many speeches were supposedly made there appears to be little or no audio or video of any of them. That’s extremely suspicious.

No problem; we’ll just get transcripts of the speeches. That’ won’t be a problem, will it H->illary! ??

*dons liberal thinking cap*

She donated, so her heart is in the right place! It’s the thought that counts.

Their other family the Bushies must be so proud of the Chapequex branch.

We should really consider why we have a Congress that writes laws that makes something like this legal

Talk about tax loopholes!

More than that. As a member of the ruling class, she is evaluated on her intentions not actions. By definition, she is not intending to do anything wrong. The FBI, DOJ, and IRS will confirm that.

Al Copone was an amateur by comparison. And, he had fewer dead bodies on the road behind him.

They gave a million dollars to the foundation which spends less than 10% of what it raises on “charity” and saved $396,000 in federal income taxes. Sweet!

It’s worse than that. The million dollars they ‘donated’ to the Clinton Foundation was speech revenue, for which they do *not* get a full deduction (since their income is so high). If the companies paying for the speeches donated *directly* to the CF, the donor companies would have gotten the full deduction, and the Clintons would have paid less in taxes.

In short, the Clintons gamed the system so they could show a million dollar charitable contribution, at the cost of a few thousand dollars of taxes paid. They have their cake “We donated a million to charity!” and are eating it too.
