As we are learning more about the radical Islamic terrorists responsible for 14 deaths in San Bernadino, California, the Obama administration and Congressional Democrats are wasting no time in pushing for more gun control.
The media started clamoring for gun control before the buildings were even cleared, and Obama was quick to leap onto his soapbox and stammer on about the need for gun control.

Note the new language here: “gun safety laws.” We’ll be hearing this again, I’m sure.
He also said that we need to make it “harder, not impossible, harder for individuals to get access to weapons.” You read that right, he didn’t specify criminals or terrorists or the mentally ill; he said “individuals.”

Not only is Obama quick to leap into gun grabbing mode, but so is his Attorney General, Loretta Lynch. She sees the San Bernadino terrorist attack as a “wonderful opportunity and a wonderful moment to really make significant change.”

Meanwhile, Democrats in the senate are “readying gun amendments to pressure the GOP.”
Senate Democrats will offer a pair of gun-related amendments to a budget bill on Thursday, seeking to put Republicans on record on the charged issue in the aftermath of Wednesday’s mass shooting in California.At a special caucus meeting on Thursday morning, Democratic senators agreed to offer legislation that would make it more difficult for people on the terrorism watch list to buy guns, and a re-vote on universal background checks that failed in 2013, senators and aides said. The votes could become major campaign fodder in next year’s Senate races.”The entire country will know where every member of the Senate stands on tightening background checks, on keeping guns out of the hands of terrorists and on strengthening and improving mental health in this country,” Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Thursday at a news conference detailing the strategy. “There are a good number — not all — but there are a good number of our Republican colleagues dreading these two votes. Dreading them.”A third amendment proposed by Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) that would restrict gun ownership for people convicted of intimidation at abortion clinics will not be offered, sources said. Democrats only want to a narrow list of amendments and that measure is viewed as overlapping with another amendment that would seek to strip out a provision defunding Planned Parenthood.
And of course Nancy Pelosi has chimed in with her own calls for gun control.
While progressives gear up for another (failed) gun control push, Detroit’s Chief of Police is making a lot more sense.
More guns, fewer problems. That, at least, is Detroit Police Chief’s James Craig’s view of Detroit and fears about a possible terrorist attack.While cities around the world are on heightened alert following a devastating ISIS attack in Paris, Detroit’s police chief says he believes the fear that armed citizens would return fire serves as a deterrent for a potential terrorist attack in the rust belt city.Craig called more officers to duty and moved some to locations deemed higher priorities following the attacks in Paris.But he also noted “a lot of Detroiters” have concealed pistol licenses and “the same rules apply to terrorists as they do to some gun-toting thug.”. . . . “If you’re a terrorist, or a carjacker, you want unarmed citizens,” Craig said.
Yep, they do, and gun control will not stop radical Islamic terrorists any more than it would stop a crazed criminal.
In this age of national insecurity—between our wide open southern borders and inability to track or vet refugees from the Middle East, gun control is the last thing on Americans’ minds. Or maybe, threats of gun control and the need for personal protection are among the top things on our minds as Black Friday saw yet another record broken in gun sales.
