What makes a freakin’ awesome grandma? With 23 grandkids, Ann Romney knows.
IJ Review’s latest shows Mrs. Romney wielding a light saber, knitting a Kanye 2020 sweater, and making it rain… with candy.
Her rules are for staying a “freakin’ awesome grandma” are simple:
1. Always have a fully stocked kitchen.
2. Always have a fun craft planned.
3. Always have a fun game ready to play.
4. Always have a good story on hand.
5. Keep up with what the kids are into.
6. Make sure you dress appropriately for every occasion.
7. Always know your squad.
In This Together, Ann Romney’s latest book, discusses her battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). According to Karen Townsend of Pondering Penguin, Romney’s story is far from sad. Discussing why she wrote the book, Mrs. Romney said:
“When I decided to write this, I meant this to be a book that would really help others. And I thought the way to do that was to be as honest as I possibly could, to hold nothing back. And to really share how depressed I was, how difficult it was, how it affected my life in every single way. And to do that, I had to be completely honest. I just felt that that was really important, and yes, it was hard to share some of those things, and yes it was hard to write some of those things. But, I decided to do it so that people would really know that it’s a complete window to my soul, and there is nothing left, and it’s completely honest.”
Freakin’ awesome grandma, indeed.
