Boston Marathon Bomber Sentenced to Death

Jurors finally reached consensus in the sentencing of Boston Marathon Bomber Jahar Tsarnaev. Tsarnaev was sentenced to death.

According to the Associated Press:

BOSTON (AP) — A jury sentenced Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to death Friday for the Boston Marathon bombing, sweeping aside pleas that he was just a “kid” who fell under the influence of his fanatical older brother.

Tsarnaev, 21, stood with his hands folded upon learning his fate, decided after 14 hours of deliberations over three days in the nation’s most closely watched terrorism trial since the Oklahoma City bombing case two decades ago.

The decision sets the stage for what could be the nation’s first execution of a terrorist in the post-9/11 era, though the case is likely to go through years of appeals. The execution would be carried out by lethal injection.

The 12-member jury had to be unanimous for Tsarnaev to get the death penalty. Otherwise, he would have automatically received a sentence of life in prison without parole.

Three people were killed and more than 260 wounded when two pressure-cooker bombs packed with shrapnel exploded near the finish line on April 15, 2013.

Tsarnaev was convicted last month of all 30 federal charges against him, including use of a weapon of mass destruction and the killing of an MIT police officer during the Tsarnaev brothers’ getaway attempt. Seventeen of those charges carried the possibility of the death penalty.

Either way, Joker will not live long or prosper.

Biggest factor in his sentence: his big brother. Was big brother the conspirator and little brother the sidekick? Or did both plan the whole thing equally?

Either way, the Joker’s life is over. He had a chance to do something good for himself here in America. He blew it – big time.

As for his loser family, the faster they are deported back to the hellhole they all came from, the better.

(And big brother’s wife should be deprogrammed. Else, she’s as lost as the rest of them.)

It’s official: he’s gonna fry.

Told ya. He blew it – big time.

The problem is actual execution may take some time to happen. Timothy McVeigh’s execution took four (4) years to occur. This kid could easily spend as much time as Mumia Abu-Jamal on death row before execution. Taxpayers get to pay for his room and board until then.

How soon before the Muslim world calls him a Martyr?

There are fewer avenues of appeal in the Federal system than the State system. A State offender gets to appeal his conviction through the State system and ultimately to the US Supreme Court. The offender is then entitled to State level post conviction relief. After those rounds of appeals the offender can seek habeas corpus review in United States District Court — setting off another round of appeals.

For a Federal conviction, there is just the United States Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court. The offender can still file for habeas corpus relief — but that will be more quickly disposed of by the trial judge. In principle it should be faster.

Time to bring the brother’s wife to justice and deport the sister who has a criminal record here in the US.

He’ll be on death row. Which means taxpayers be housing and feeding him for at least the next 15 years before justice is fully meted.

Yes, Acturian. But after 15 years he won’t exist to trade in a hostage negotiation. Which is a good thing.

The Jordanians have figured this out. Which is why they expedited a few executions after ISIS burned their pilot.

Ya shoulda heard what the NPR station in San Diego was carrying.

Some broad that wrote a book about the bombing tried to portray the trial as if the jury heard two competing stories, and did not buy the defense story that the poor child was one of the many victim of this tragedy. She said the jury bought the story that he was a Muslim and a combatant.

She wholly forgot to mention that the evidence of guilt was overwhelming.

Great, now where can I sign up to start the IV?

“Timothy McVeigh’s execution took four (4) years to occur.”

McVeigh dropped his appeal to speed up the process.

However, two Federal inmates have been executed since McVeigh…Louis Jones and Juan Garza, both of whom fought their sentences through the appeals court. In both cases it took approximately 8 years from date of conviction for the death penalty to be carried out.

I hope he suffers before he is dead.

Alternatively, we can bequeath him on Putin. See how he likes that.

4 dead.

Reminds me of the disgusting b***h and b*****d who unconcernedly went off to the comfort of their homes and beds leaving another four to die in Benghazi, Libya, not allowing any attempt to rescue them.

I would not be surprised that Barry will pardon this scum. After all, he is a kindred spirit of Joker”s

Stan25, I would not be surprised if Barry made him our next Secretary of Homeland Security. Right after making Bo Bergdahl our next SecDef.

I still think that the prosecutor made a complete and utter burro of herself by saying that the Joker wasn’t a good Muslim. What does Ms. Ortiz know of such things? It would be better for non-Muslims to keep silent on that sort of thing.

That is nothing more than pandering to the crowd who want to say that this wacko’s religious beliefs didn’t have a part in his decision to employee a weapon of mass distinction. You know the Islam is really the religion of peace crap.

I found it much more offensive that he allowed his defense team to try to place all the blame on his brother and say that he was just a poor follower, what a coward. Of course anyone who would bomb innocents is a coward anyway.
