It’s election day in Israel.
We’ll be updating this post until the polls close at 4 p.m. with tweets, videos, and updates from Israel. At that point, we will have a new Results post.

Updates
Israel is currently seeing the highest voter turnout since 1999. By 10 a.m. local time, the count was already up over 2% from the last election. (Update to the update—by 2 pm, turnout had dipped to just below last election’s levels at 37%.)
Polls close at 10 p.m. (4 p.m. E.D.T.), and at that time the government will release initial exit polls. The count, however, will continue through the night.
I wonder who Benjamin Netanyahu voted for…
PM Netanyahu was slated to make a statement at 5:45 local time, but a judge banned the broadcast:
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was expected to make a public statement around 5:45 p.m. (11:45 a.m. E.D.T.) But Salim Joubran, a judge on the Supreme Court of Israel and the chairman of the Central Elections Committee, forbade any live broadcast of the statement on television or radio, according to a Twitter post by Ben Caspit, a leading Israeli political commentator.It was not clear what the prime minister intended to say in the statement. Campaign laws in Israel generally ban open campaigning on Election Day, and the judge presumably acted on that basis.
