Friday Night Lights: 7 awesome Christmas light displays
We’re pretty sure you can see these houses from space
There are plenty of deep and meaningful reasons to enjoy the holiday season. And then there are the small holiday hallmarks like Christmas lights, which happen to be one of my favorite parts of this time of year.
Interestingly enough, NASA says you can actually see Christmas lights from space. According to their study, light intensifies 20% – 50% in large metropolitan areas this time of year.
Which makes perfect sense when you watch the light displays on these awesome houses.
1. The ultimate Star Wars light display?
2. When patriotism, Christmas, and techno cross streams
3. In case you want to hear Let it go from Frozen just one more time…
4. This house is sexy and it knows it
5. The lesser of the Korean evils, Gangnam Style
6. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra never disappoints
7. The best school song in existence — the Aggie War Hymn

What, no UT Christmas light display to rebut the Aggie display!
Tsk, tsk, Mademoiselle Kaye. Me thinks a little bias in your journalism is showing. 😉
As a very ‘non-traditional” Aggie who was a dad and a Army vet when I attended…
if you can watch and listen to the “Noble Sons Of Kyle” as the Aggie Band troops, and not get teary…
you just have no soul.
Just as if you can hear the skirl of the pipes here, and not tear up.

A little Mozart makes it compete, I mean, complete.

My eyes leak every time I hear Noble Men of Kyle, Rags. Thanks so much for your service.
Knowing that all those lights were made in China seems to diminish my enjoyment. I’m still pissed that the Chinese stole the idea for icicle lights from the two American ladies who invented them. See: A Stolen Idea:The Story of Icicle Lights
#4 is the guy who started this trend. You can see the smaller faces in one of the earlier videos – he makes and sells them now.

Not sure I’d enjoy being a next door neighbor to flashing jack-o-lantern faces with Santa hats singing “I got passion in my pants and I ain’t afraid to show it. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, man” all night.
But viewing it from here is terrific! Those folks sure are creative.
My nephew has quite a display. http://lightinguppaxton.com/
