The latest frontrunner talk among the Republican insiders and DC media types is none other than Mitt Romney.
But are Americans ready for a third run for President by the 2012 GOP loser to Barack Obama?
With the economy in virtual stagnation for six years, Russia annexing Ukranian territory and Islamic terrorists on the doorstep of Baghdad — Mitt Romney (circa 2012) suddenly seems like a wise soothsayer:

Even CBS News has jumped on the Mitt 2016 bandwagon it seems.
Far from being excommunicated by Republicans after his loss to President Obama, 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is enjoying a brand resurgence of late, drawing several potential 2016 candidates to his “ideas summit” this weekend in Utah and even earning some 2016 speculation himself.Romney once worried he’d be branded a “loser for life” by his party if he failed to unseat the president, but it hasn’t quite worked out that way. Despite the crowd of up-and-comers at his summit, many people there were more abuzz about the possibility that Romney himself could jump into the race in 2016.Rommey “is the only person that can fill the stage,” said MSNBC host and former Republican congressman Joe Scarborough at a private dinner on the summit’s opening night, according to The Washington Post.
Romney himself seems to be fired up and attacked presumptive 2016 Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton on foreign policy earlier this week.
Mitt Romney blasted President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over foreign policy Thursday, saying their leadership during Obama’s first term helped weaken America’s standing in the world.The 2012 GOP presidential nominee went after Clinton in particular for arguing that the five Taliban detainees released last month in exchange for captive Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl aren’t a threat to the United States.“That may be one of the most clueless responses I’ve heard in a long time, because of course you don’t throw our allies under the bus,” Romney said on Fox News. “You recognize as well we have soldiers in Afghanistan, and the reason we’re there in the first place is to protect United States’ interests and our security needs.”“So I don’t know where she’s coming from,” he continued. “I frankly think this is a continuation of a pattern of the Obama-Hillary Clinton foreign policy, and it hasn’t worked.”
Real Clear Politics’ collection of 2016 Presidential surveys suggest that GOP primary voters have moved on from Mitt as most news organizations aren’t including him in the mix. But the success of the Netflix documentary about Romney’s life and career have been stoking ‘third-run’ rumors since it debuted.
Romney seemed pretty definitive four months ago when he talked to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that he wouldn’t run in 2016.
It’s not like he would, um, flip flop, would he?
