Toyota is leaving Southern California for Texas, via USA Today:
Toyota is moving its national headquarters from the Los Angeles suburbs to Plano, Texas.It will create a sprawling campus north of Dallas that will bring together 4,000 employees from manufacturing, sales and marketing and corporate operations around the country. It will also include Toyota Financial, its financing arm. A company statement says the automaker is trying to create a “One Toyota” vision for the U.S. and Canada.With its worldwide headquarters in Japan, Toyota has operated in the U.S. for more than 50 years from Southern California. Most of the employees affected by the move work on a sprawling campus in Torrance. The move will begin in 2016.
