Two longtime Legal Insurrection readers, brothers Jim from California and Jon from Michigan.
Jim’s daughter was a student of mine and we met yesterday at Cornell Law School’s post-commencement reception.
You may not be able to see it, but Jim was wearing an AR-15 pin.

How wonderful is this! Congrats to Jim’s daughter too 🙂
A modest proposal: replace the professorial picture of yourself on the masthead with this one or a similar one.
A pleasure to meet the professor. I should note that his lovely wife promised to let him keep blogging. I agree that he should consider changing his photo–he looks younger in person 🙂
Congratulations to the proud father and uncle on the graduation of Jim’s daughter . . . and hello to everyone on this stimulating website, which I have been reading regularly for quite some time now, without participating as commenter. I propose to remedy that lapse with this combox entry.
P. S.: Without having to see it, I _like_ Jim’s pin.
I dunno, Professor.
They kinda look like members of a terrorist group known to the DOJ & IRS.
What a complement.
Hey Prof… Sure feels good to shed the tie once in awhile, eh?
Regarding the AR-15 pin, ain’t that a capital offense in New Yawk?
Hey, it’s good to be able to pin a face on a LI commenter.
Good to see you, Jim and Jon!
Jim, congratulations to your daughter!
Speaking of the lovely Mrs. Jacobson, I imagine she often tells her husband what I tell my wife:
“Honey, you sure did marry up!”
Eye candy!

Just got back home from New York. Echoing my brother’s comments, it was very nice to meet Professor Jacobson and his lovely wife. Both were very gracious folks, just wish we’d had a couple hours to talk.
I came back via Canada, wasn’t stripped and searched at either border so I guess our terroristic future is still secure.
Thanks again for meeting with us Professor Jacobson and thank your wife for being so kind and gracious.
And my niece is such a smart young lady (brag, brag, brag).
