SPLC put Rand Paul on 2011 list of “Electoral Extremism”

SPLC put Rand Paul on 2011 list of “Electoral Extremism”

Rand Paul is the civil libertarian hero of progressives, libertarians, and all people who care about the government being able to summarily execute an American on American soil who does not pose a threat of imminent substantial violence without due process of law.

For the past 12 hours Rand Paul has been conducting a speaking filibuster.

Whether you like his economic policies or not, Rand Paul stands for the rule of law.

#StandWithRand is the no. 1 trending topic on Twitter as I write.  The world is watching as Senators and Congressmen of both parties slowly are standing with him.

Against this backdrop, please consider how Paul’s philosophy of limited, constitutional federal government has been demonized by the Southern Poverty Law Center for political purposes.

Amazingly, the SPLC put Paul on a 2011 list of Electoral Extremism: 23 Candidates on the Radical Right:

Americans are generally possessed of an optimism that the democratic electoral process will filter out extremists, radicals and dangerous ideologues. Indeed, there is a temptation to chortle with satisfaction that the number of voters who wrote in neo-Nazi Billy Roper as their 2010 choice for governor of Arkansas wouldn’t fill the seats in an undersized fast-food restaurant….

The Intelligence Report has compiled an accounting of 22 men and one woman with extreme right-wing views who sought public office during the 2010 election season — including five who succeeded. Those who won their races are marked “elected.”

Just read in an email that Van Jones tweeted an attaboy in so many words about Rand Paul’s filibuster. Does that mean the SPLC needs to investigate Jones for ‘extremism’??? (pure sarcasm)

Does anyone know how the SPLC funds itself? It would be very interesting to know who some of the top donors are and in particular if they receive much public money. If they do, it is no doubt a few levels removed – the frequent way to hide the true source by filtering it through a non-profit chain.

What’s a right wing libertarian anyway and how come no lefties are upset about Holder’s comments (to Cruz)?

It’s almost as if Morris Dees was saying, “This guy should be president in 2016!”

I STAND WITH RAND

In embracing compete sarcasm, from the view of SPLC, Rand Paul is extreme. But that is saying something about SPLC, not Rand Paul.

Rand Paul, whether or not he is aspires to stand for and be elected President, is already one of America’s great Senators. History will look kindly upon him.

That is okay. Those who #standwithrand are heroes. Those who sup with Obama or who tear this country down as the SPLC does are zeros.

This is a man.

Morris Dees is a corrupt self promoter. He is nothing.

Contrast Paul with Boehner and Cantor. What @#$%ing cowards.

SPLC has joined the UN, Democrat party and all the left in ignoring the real sources of hate on this earth.

Islam, black supremacists, race-careerists like Sharpton, Jackson, even gay militants and Democrat big spenders, environmentalists, PETA, global warming/climate change, etc. are today’s prime sources of hate, persecution, injustice, intolerance and maligning and silencing anyone who disagrees or dissents from their PC (punitive conformity) narrative.

While ever there are still actually real ‘hate groups’ out there which could use some light shone on them, SPLC does itself no favours by conflating “people we don’t like” with “dangerous hate groups”.

SPLC may once have had some credibility, but now it’s morphed into just another far-Left partisan mob waving around their lists of political enemies.

They’ve really debased their original mission and that’s a shame.

Must say, wouldn’t bother me if a drone discharged it’s load on the SPLC and that ugly creep Dees.

The “Southern Progressive Litigation Center” should really just admit that they are a pack of race baiting poverty pimps, supported by far left whackos. Or they are the far left whackos. Hard to tell.

SPLC is a joke, has been a joke for a good five years or more.
