We have known for decades that Palestinian leaders talk out of both sides of their mouths, a message of relative restraint to the West and a message of anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli agitation at home.Hamas is more honest than the Palestinian Authority, as it has a unified message of hate. Now that Mahmoud Abbas is being feted in the capitals of Europe, it’s important to understand that at home the Palestinian Authority incitement is as virulent as ever. Via Israel Matzav:
Strategic Affairs Ministry Director General Yossi Kupperwasser told the cabinet on Sunday that ‘Palestinian’ incitement – as reflected in the incitement index – is worse than ever.
Kuperwasser was asked to give a briefing on the “incitement index” following Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s speech to the UN General Assembly on Thursday. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu termed that speech, where Abbas painted Israel in demonic colors, as “dripping with poison.”Commenting after Kuperwasser presented his quarterly findings, Netanyahu said “this is additional proof that we are not talking about a disagreement over territory, rather about the rejection of Israel’s existence.”Netanyahu said the failure of the Palestinians to accept Israel’s existence within any border is the “root of the conflict.” He said Palestinian maps consistently showing “Palestine” as the entire area from the Jordan river to the Mediterranean illustrates proves a lack of acceptance of Israel’s right to exist.…Kuperwasser presented the cabinet with a power point presentation called the Culture of Peace and Incitement index in the PA.” …
Via Israel National News:
Kuperwasser presented a number of items that illustrated the PA’s incitement. Among the items was a Facebook page sponsored by a school in Kalkilya, which included anti-Israel and anti-Jewish pictures and photos. The page is titled “I hate Israel.” In another Facebook page sponsored by a Tulkarem school, quotes from Hitler and other Jew haters are prominently listed. The quote attributed to Hitler stated: “I could have killed all of the Jews in the world, but I left a few so that you would know why I killed them”Other examples included school exercises where a student who identified a terrorist who killed Jews – and told the class what the terrorist had done – was rewarded with candy.
Perhaps the governments of Britain and France should threaten the same diplomatic retaliation against the Palestinian Authority over this incitement as they do against Israel.
