What will I do?

Some thoughts.

Should Romney lose, there will be trolling beyond belief, including liberals trying to get Republicans to fight with each other in order to tear the party apart. There are fights which will need to be had, but not tomorrow.  Operation Demoralize never stops. Don’t succumb.

It will be tempting to do the same to Democrats if we win. There are plenty of people on Twitter and elsewhere who deserve it. I’m going (to try really hard) to resist the urge.  There is a 47% chance I will succeed in resisting temptation, but I will try.

Whatever the result, we need to stay focused. I recommend this post by Tucker Carlson and Neit Patel at The Daily Caller, Wave Goodbye to the Obama media:

By tomorrow night we’ll likely know the name of the next president. But we already know the loser in this election cycle: political reporters. They’ve disgraced themselves. Conservatives have long complained about liberal bias in the media, and with some justification. But it has finally reached the tipping point. Not in our lifetimes have so many in the press dropped the pretense of objectivity in order to help a political candidate. The media are rooting for Barack Obama. They’re not hiding it….By the next presidential cycle most of these people will be gone. They’ll have moved on to academia or think tanks or Democratic senate campaigns, or wherever aging hacks go when their union contracts finally, inevitably get voided. They’ll be replaced by a vibrant digital marketplace filled with hungry young reporters who care more about breaking stories than maintaining access to some politician or regulator. All of this was probably inevitable, but it came faster than expected. Through their dishonesty the legacy media hastened their own end. Their moral authority has evaporated. So has their business model. Wave them goodbye on the way out.

I don’t have that level of confidence. These people may be gone, but they simply will be replaced.

I wondered what I would do with Legal Insurrection depending on the result of the election.

If Obama wins, well the answer is easy. But what if Obama loses? The same thing as if he wins, just somewhat different issues and players.

We let our guard down for a generation, and look at the mess we’re in. This is a never-ending battle.
