OF COURSE it costs the purchaser something. There are no free goods, remember?
But the cost for supporting LI is well worth it.
The invisible “cost” would seem to come out of Amazon’s advertising budget, or their profit margin. I’d say we earn the discount money by helping them cheaply target customers. But the point is, the price is the same whether using the LI link or not.
In any case, I usually forget to go through here … another prominent Amazon logo, maybe under the tip line link, or even by the LI and CI tabs on the right, would help me (and others) remember.
Agree with Midwest Rhino that a prominent Amazon logo as a reminder would be great. My memory is terrible. I get mesmerized shopping on Amazon, and long after I place my order it dawns on me I forgot to order through LI again.
I found before that using LI’s “portal,” the best thing to do was save books and other items to your Amazon wish list and then they were available when you went through the LI site. But now we only need to click on the above link?
I’ve been meaning to order Greg Gutfeld’s new book, and now I’ll have to add Greg Lukianoff’s, too.
If I want to use the link, but want to buy more than one item, do I have to search for each item separately from the link, or is the first item the only one? (If that question makes sense….)
