Ignorance? Apathy? Mediocrity? All of the above?
In a video taken outside a Romney rally, one Obama supporter shares why he won’t vote for Romney. Pay close attention, because this is what happens when nearly every mainstream media outlet in the country is in the tank for one candidate. Some quotes that stuck out to me (h/t Twitchy):
Cameraman: What’s wrong with Romney?Obama supporter: Uh. He’s for the rich.Cameraman: He says he’s not going to raise taxes on the middle class… What if he cut taxes for everybody, would that be good for you?Obama supporter: No.Cameraman: Are things better with Obama?Obama supporter: …Well things are definitely not worse.Cameraman: Did you see our Ambassador got assassinated in Libya?Obama supporter: He probably had it coming.Cameraman: So Obama can’t solve the middle east problem for us?Obama supporter: Well, neither can Romney.
Then, of course, there’s always this (posted by the same YouTube user):
This is the attitude taking hold among many Americans who support President Obama. Many Americans who are content with watching the steady downgrade of America before their very eyes.
It’s not a novel attitude, but the increasing prevalence of this attitude is novel. So I keep asking myself the same question. Can we really afford four more years of President Obama?
