Dear LI Readers,
The time has come for me to bid you adieu. After 1.5 years and roughly 300 posts, I am discontinuing my role as a contributor to Legal Insurrection. Recent events suggest that I am beginning a new phase of my life: I just got engaged, I’ve graduated from school, I enter the working world this July and my home is now far from Cayuga’s waters.
I enjoyed writing at this outlet. Watching it grow and progress has been an absolute pleasure. Prof. Jacobson is one of the most dedicated, sincere and intelligent people I’ve met during my time at Cornell and I am happy that he gave me a place at LI. It was sometimes hard to manage posting amidst the workload Cornell is (in?)famous for, but this opportunity helped me grow as much as my classes. (It certainly prepared me well for an internship at the Journal.) In turn, I do hope I kept you entertained.
The pace of a blog is difficult to keep up without a sharp mind. It’s fairly easy to read and speak about current events without worrying about an audience to attract. It takes an impressive skill set to churn out good content on a regular basis to thousands of people and I think we owe a nod of gratitude to Prof. Jacobson for doing so each day.
I will continue to turn to LI whenever I need sober analysis of political and legal news with some good humor – I hope more people do the same.

WAJ adds: I want to extend my thanks to Kathleen for her devotion to LI the past two years. She was very brave to step out so publicly on campus with a conservative/libertarian view, and to go “on the record” with it here and at The Cornell Review. Students like Kathleen give me hope for the future of the nation.
To everything there is a season, and now it’s Kathleen’s time to pursue real life. I wish Kathleen and her husband-to-be the best.
