Welcome Anne Sorock

Starting next week, Anne Sorock will begin posting here.

You may remember Anne from my post, When did you decide to become politically active?

I had the pleasure a couple of weeks ago of meeting with Anne Sorock and Yvonne Ralsky, co-founders of The Frontier Lab.The Frontier Lab, among other things, utilizes “deep values research” common in consumer products marketing analysis (Anne is a Cornell Business School graduate who concentrated in the field) and applies those principles to politics.  Unlike typical polling, which asks random people to answer a series of questions, they conduct in depth interviews much like a food company would with consumers before marketing a product.Much of their work has been devoted to the Tea Party movement, and they have produced studies for the Sam Adams Alliance as to what motivates Tea Party members.

Anne’s work at The Frontier Lab includes a four-part series on the Tea Party movement, an examination of how youth relate to President Ronald Reagan’s brand, a segmentation of Wisconsin union protesters, and an in-depth mapping of the Occupy movement participants’ motivations and future plans.  Her recent column at National Review, What Do Women Want?, was almost prophetic in analyzing the role Ann Romney would have to play if Mitt is the nominee.

Anne has a deep background with the Tea Party movement, including previously working for the Sam Adams Alliance.  In this election season, when attempts are made from friend and foe alike to marginalize the Tea Party movement, it’s really important not to allow Operation Demoralize to win.

Anne also has an interesting background in Republican politics, having worked for Rep. Henry Hyde during the Clinton impeachment, and Senator Peter Fitzgerald during the Enron investigation.

As a book editor at Regnery Publishing, Anne edited titles including Steve Forbes’s Flat Tax Revolution, The Heritage Foundation’s Guide to the Constitution, William Perry Pendley’s Warriors for the West, and A. Samuel Cook’s Freedom in the Workplace.

Anne has a degree in history from Johns Hopkins University, and a Masters of Business Administration from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell.

I feel fortunate that Anne is willing to contribute to this humble abode.
