I previously posted about Connie Mack IV’s decision to run for the Senate, and wondered what his chances would be.
Looks like they are pretty good, according to Rasmussen:
Republican Congressman Connie Mack changed his mind late last month about challenging longtime Democratic Senator Bill Nelson in 2012, and now he finds himself with a modest edge over the incumbent in the first Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Florida’s U.S. Senate race.
The latest statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters in the state shows Mack with 43% to Nelson’s 39%. Five percent (5%) prefer some other candidate, and 13% remain undecided.
That would be a huge pick-up for Republicans, and may signal strength in Florida for the Republican presidential ticket.

Right now: any Republican. Mack’s father held this seat before Nelson did, so I think we can be optimistic.
But who will take Mack’s seat so that we can retain the Rep. majority in the house?
A potential problem, but can be overcome. This is Florida’s 14th. A Democrat by the name of James Roach has been trying for this seat. The good part is that this is a pretty conservative area. It was Democrat in the old days. It’s generally gone Republican in recent years. It went decisively for McCain over Obama in 2008.
Game show host/Wink Martindale lookalike Nelson has been a thorn in the side of central Florida, at least for me, for about five years now. I wrote him back in 2008 and kindly vowed that I would work very hard to make sure he was unseated and I’m ready to roll. He’s a barking moonbat liberal hack who has no will of his own other than to march lockstep with the progressive (regressive) agenda.
Chauncey Goss (one of our former Representative Porter Goss’ sons) has declared, among others . The younger Mr. Goss appears to be a committed Constitutional conservative, from what I can see of him so far. He served for a time for the House Budget Committee, in the employ of now Chairman Paul Ryan, I think.

whitelaw man’s burden, but will you be pointing us to websites worthy of our (limited) donations for 2012?Appreciate the recommendations from last year – I’m sure I wouldn’t have heard of some of them, but once you mentioned them I did my own investigating and donated to some of your recommendations.
As I set up focus pages for particular races each will give a link to donate. It’s on the early side, so there are not many yet.
