So says E.J. Dionne in The Washington Post, arguing that voter i.d. laws and limitations on early voting will suppress the Democratic Party vote and disenfranchise minorities:
An attack on the right to vote is underway across the country through laws designed to make it more difficult to cast a ballot. If this were happening in an emerging democracy, we’d condemn it as election-rigging. But it’s happening here, so there’s barely a whimper.
Is there any successful Republican election which was not stolen? George Bush stole 2000 and 2004. McCain was too honest to steal 2008; we’ll never make the mistake of having an honest candidate again, now will we?
Had I known that we already stole 2012, I might have stayed at Blogger and taken some time off.
