The Torch Has Been Passed To A New Obama Generation

Obama announced via Twitter that his grassroots campaign will start today, on the eve of his nationwide tour of big money donors so that he can become the first billion-dollar candidate in the history of this country (sorry, that last part wasn’t in the announcement).

The Obama campaign released this video as part of the rollout:

The Obama campaign also has leaked the text of the next video:

We dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first Obama revolution. Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Obama fans — born at the end of the last century, tempered by student loans and competition for the most Facebook friends, disciplined by a hard and bitter college admissions process, proud of Obama’s ancient heritage, and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights like free internet to which this nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world.

If you don’t think the MSM will be totally in the tank again, take a glimpse of this opening paragraph by Marc Ambinder writing at National Journal, which portrays Obama as the victim of circumstance:

President Obama opens his reelection campaign on Monday with a familiar cast of consultants; an economy that’s improving, sluggishly; wars that he is struggling to extract himself from; and an implacable partisan fight in Congress that might shut down the government by week’s end.
