What is it with Nobel Peace Prize winners lately?
Now its 2005 Nobel Laureate Mohamed ElBaradei threatening war with Israel if Israel gets into another war with Hamas in Gaza:
Former International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei, who had previously announced his intetions to run for the presidency of Egypt, said Monday that “if Israel attacked Gaza we would declare war against the Zionist regime.”
In an interview with the Al-Watan newspaper he said: “In case of any future Israeli attack on Gaza – as the next president of Egypt – I will open the Rafah border crossing and will consider different ways to implement the joint Arab defense agreement.”
As you know, I’m not a big fan of ElBaradei. His latest posturing surely is a result of the growing realization that the Islamists are ascendent.
ElBaradei can give interviews to the press, but the Islamists can put over a million people on the streets to chant “To Jerusalem We go, for us to be the Martyrs of the Millions.”
Peace.
