CPAC was good.
For the past four years, I’ve looked to CPAC for a fix of liberty-oriented resources and ideas. Growing up in a bastion of liberalism wasn’t always easy, but CPAC has a way of making a conservative feel at ease. Last year, I had a particularly wonderful time since most of the speeches were centered around differentiating “us” from those in power.
This year, the “upwards trajectory” I had always felt, fell short. And the speeches were fine, sure, and the people I met were great, yeah, but … oh gosh, why the emphasis on the primaries? Now that we’re back in power, being in the opposition has lost its luster. Here is my plea: be yourself, speakers!
I want to be reminded that it’s right to be … right. Not that I should vote for _______.
