I was too busy voting for her to watch the performance.
I really want Bristol to win, so that Sally Quinn has a full blown conniption:
My favorite story is that of 67-year-old Steven Cowan who couldn’t stand it another minute and blasted his TV with a shotgun after Brandy lost. He thought Bristol was not a good dancer.
This could be a metaphor for things to come. Sarah Palin is a force to be reckoned with and if her supporters can influence a TV show of 23 million viewers they can have more serious influence on elections. And if they can mobilize the religious right then the Democrats better pay attention and start dancing as fast as they can.
There is a difference between Palin supporters and haters that Quinn is too cloistered to see.
If Bristol loses, Palin supporters will not start shooting televisions.

When a girl that went to my local high school over ten years ago made it to the top 12 (or something) on American Idol, the whole community was voting for her whether they followed the show or not. It's just how it goes.
The kid is a decent dancer, bless her heart. And quite honestly, I strongly resent Jennifer Grey rewriting history! She and Patrick Swayze detested each other and I never heard anything to the contrary in all the years that following the release of Dirty Dancing. Also, I'm sick of listening to her whining about her physical pain. That's what dancing IS – pain!
Bristol has been getting death threats. Yeah, we Tea Partiers are the violent extremists.

Jennifer Grey comes across as a whiner with a sense of entitlement.
As for Sally Qinn – here's all you need to know about Ms. Quinn, her husband, and the type of people she hangs around with:

Her performance wasn't that great compared to the other two. She is a decent dancer, better than I would be. But, if she wins it will be because of her mom. She certainly didn't accomplish it on her own. Which to me is not a good thing.
If I watched the show I'd be voting for her as often as I could. I haven't seen it so–is she any good?
If Bristol loses, Palin supporters will not start shooting televisions.
But if Bristol wins, Barbara Bush will order the butler to shoot the television.
Third place. Hey, that ain't bad, kid.
Bergeron put it perfectly: she hopped in her pickup truck, drove five days to get to LA, didn't know how to dance but through pluck and sheer determination managed to make it to the finals.
Left NBA stars, NFL quarterbacks, TV moms and professional performers in her wake.
And instead of being (falsely) accused as being a teenage slut who couldn't pick a nice guy to get her pregnant in high school, she comes across as a very lovely young woman. It's quite obvious that she has a lot of her parents in her.
She gets an attagirl from me.
I've never watched the show, and never intend to do so. But the whining and complaining about this is really fun to watch.
Newsflash to those that actually are upset over this…
IT'S A FREAKING TV TALENT SHOW WITH NO STANDARDS FOR VOTING!!!! GET A LIFE!!
RE: Just a Conservative Girl
If she wins, it will be because Bristol expended the energy to compete and because the voters supported her. Being the daughter of Sarah Palin is an advantage for sure, but Sarah Palin doens't have the power to bestow the crown on Bristol. Compare this situation to Murkowski the father making Murkowski the daughter Senator from Alaska.
