Harry Reid’s comment that Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand was the “hottest” in the Senate has generated reaction ranging from “there he goes again” to “sexist!“
When I posted first thing this morning about it, I guess I fell into the “there he goes again” crowd (Someone Tell Grandpa Harry To Stop Talking).
But the actual quote attributed to Reid reveals that this is not just Harry Reid talking. Reid made clear that Gillibrand’s hotness was a subject of discussion, presumably among Reid’s fellow male Democratic Senators (emphasis mine):
“We in the Senate refer to Sen. Gillibrand as the hottest member.”
Who are We, and when did We say it?

Keeping the 'little women' in their place…
And, as much as I detest Nancy Pelosi, I remember how condescending Harry was to her… like there there your stupid _____.
Men will be men… that's fine but not when publicly reducing a Senator to "the hot member." From an Imam, I would not be surprised.
Harry is very lucky it was Kirsten and not me.
Good natured flirting is one thing… degrading condescension in a group of people in a business setting is entirely another.
I would LOVE to hear Harry Reid say something similar to Linda McMahon, should they both become Senators in the next Congress. She'd pile-drive him on the Senate floor.
Creepy, creepy old man. I think the pressure of the last few months got to him, and he snapped.
Professor? care to offer your views on this?

I would refer to him as Grandpa Munster. He's like a creepy undertaker with soft white hands. The eww factor is incalculable.
