About: Tyler Hummel

Born into the unexplored residential backwater of Chicago, Tyler Hummel is a graduate of Tribeca Flashpoint College where he studied Sound Design for Film and Interactive Media. When he isn’t writing for Geeks Under Grace or Legal Insurrection, hosting his public access talk show The Fox Valley Film Critics or collecting DragonBall Z figurines, he enjoys writing and directing short films. As Rick from Casablanca said, “he’s a man like any other man, just more so!”

I went, none seeing me
Forth from my house, where all things quiet be

Damien Chazelle has been a hot commodity in Hollywood ever since his freshman script Grand Piano was adapted into a surprising small scale thriller in 2013. Clint Eastwood’s late period career track has been a notably mixed one. His last great film Gran Torino was released over a decade ago and since then his films have largely floundered. What hasn’t floundered is Clint Eastwood’s public image. He has had several financially successful films that have sparked massive...

Maybe the best entertainment drama of the year thus far has been watching the Oscars squirm their way through bouts of relevancy.

Over the summer, it was announced by the Academy of Motion Pictures that the next awards season would introduce the decried “achievement in popular film” category that many film fans...

2018 was a mixed year for film overall. There were several notable studio blockbusters worthy of discussion but for the first time in my adult life, I found myself predominantly attracted to smaller independent/personal films this year as opposed to the largest studio blockbusters. I enjoyed Avengers: Infinity War...
