First Lady Melania Trump's Chief of Staff Stephanie Grisham resigned tonight after the violence at the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters. Grisham was the first person to resign. Reports indicate others have as well and higher-ranking members are thinking about it.

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) reopened on Monday for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) has argued for months that it is unsafe to go into the schools even though the Chicago Department of Public Health's COVID bureau supports the CPS reopening plan. Some teachers set up shop outside in the cold to teach virtually.

The fight to represent New York's 22nd Congressional District picked back up on Monday in court between Democratic incumbent Rep. Anthony Brindisi and Republican challenger Claudia Tenney. Counties counted over the Christmas and New Year's holidays, which gave Tenney a 29 vote lead. But that could change since 2,500 ballots still need their day in court.

Georgia voters hit the polls on Tuesday to elect their U.S. senators. These votes will determine if a party will hold the majority or ends up 50-50. But could President Donald Trump's Saturday phone call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger affect the outcome? The story is definitely clouding over the race as Trump and President-elect Joe Biden head to Georgia to rally voters.
