Two days ago, Newsweek published an article that claimed alt-right bots forced former Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) to resign…not, you know, him grabbing women’s butts or breasts.

Newsweek’s fall from respected publication to tabloid trash has been a remarkable and sad spectacle.

Like many other print publications, Newsweek struggled with reduced circulation when online news became the preferred medium for news consumption. In 2012, Newsweek printed what was supposed to be its last edition.

Two Los Angeles county Sheriff Deputies were ambushed in Compton last night; a male and a female deputy were shot multiple times while sitting in their patrol car.  They were rushed to the hospital for emergency care, and as of this writing, both officers are fighting for their lives.

On June 25, 1950, North Korean troops crossed the 38th parallel to invade the fledgling democratic south. Amidst changing borders, victories, and defeats, hundreds of thousands of Koreans from the North escaped to the South in the hopes of finding freedom.

Two of these refugees were my grandfathers.
