Cornell 7 Case – Letitia James Appointed Special Prosecutor, Ensuring Investigation Viewed As Political

Cornell 7 Case – Letitia James Appointed Special Prosecutor, Ensuring Investigation Viewed As Political

What’s needed here is a level-headed prosecutor not already overcome with pre-judgment of the facts. I think the local prosecutor could have been that person, but NY Governor Kathy Hochul has other ideas.

I haven’t commented yet on the so-called ‘Cornell 7’ case in which seven Cornell male frat members are accused in a civil lawsuit of sexually assaulting and/or raping an adult female student in 2024. I haven’t commented so far — despite multiple requests from major media — because the facts are not at all clear, despite a social media and political frenzy presuming the frat members are guilty.

But there is another narrative, one spun by the Ithaca District Attorney who refused to indict in 2024 because of a statement signed by the woman which denied that she was incapacitated much less involuntarily incapacitated such that under state law her seemingly willing participation could be viewed as a crime.  He agreed to reopen the case under enormous pressure, while defending his 2024 decision (bold in original).

Jane Doe’s sworn statement in November of 2024 did not allege that she was drugged against her will or gang raped. On the contrary, Jane Doe’s statement described her participation in drug use and sexual conduct as voluntary, conscious, and consensual. My office obviously did not and could not have based our November 2024 decision on the allegations in a civil lawsuit that would not be filed until nearly two years later. Furthermore, I have never been contacted by Jane Doe’s attorneys. Not to inform me the original statement was inaccurate and not to ask me to reconsider our decision. Rather, I reached out to Jane Doe’s attorneys after the lawsuit was filed to understand the discrepancy between the original statement and the lawsuit’s allegations and the proper path forward in light of the lawsuit’s allegations.

Also, slowly-leaking text and other messages from the woman could portray this as a voluntary sex-party which she later regretted.

Which narrative is right? I don’t know, not enough actual evidence has come out, and what has come out is dribbling out in incomplete and sometimes contradictory bits and pieces. That’s why I haven’t commented.

What I can say to a certainly, based on social media and Democrat politician statements, is that the situation is being exploited by people trying to build social media followings and politicians trying to exploit the situation for political gains.

What’s needed here is a level-headed prosecutor not already overcome with pre-judgment of the facts. I think the local prosecutor could have been that person, but NY Governor Kathy Hochul has other ideas.

Hochul is in an unexpectedly close race in November; she’ll still likely win because it’s NY, but it’s closer than most people expected. So rather than let the normal re-opened prosecutorial function go forward, Hochul has removed the local prosecutor’s office jurisdiction and handed the case to one of the most political prosecutors in the country, NY Attorney General Letitia James.

In a statement announcing the move, Hochul wrote in part:

WHEREAS, article IV, section 3 of the Constitution of the State of New York obliges the Governor to take care that the laws are faithfully executed;

WHEREAS, on September 16, 2026, Jane Doe filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court, New York County, alleging she was the victim of a sexual assault perpetrated by multiple individuals occurring on October 19-20, 2024;

WHEREAS, in November 2024, the Tompkins County District Attorney declined to prosecute any of the alleged perpetrators of the sexual assault, without speaking to Jane Doe, and relied, at least in part, upon information from Jane Doe’s sworn statement to the Cornell University Police Department, which reportedly omitted key portions of Jane Doe’s account, including Jane Doe’s unequivocal assertion that she had been sexually assaulted;

WHEREAS, concerns have been raised, both by Jane Doe and the public, that this incident cannot be fully and thoroughly investigated or prosecuted without conflict or bias, or the public perception of conflict or bias;

But James is not neutral, if that’s what Hochul actually sought. She already has posted on Facebook that she believes the woman’s account. When confronted at the news conference about this, James said she doesn’t comment on Facebook posts. But it’s her post!

Reporter: “Attorney General, on your Facebook page three days ago, you wrote, ‘What this young woman has been forced to endure is horrific and unacceptable. I’m holding her in my heart and in my prayers. To her and to all survivors, you’re not alone. We stand with you.’ Why did you affirm her allegations as fact without doing your own fact-finding investigation? And to the governor, why did you appoint an official who made a public statement affirming those allegations as fact as someone who’s supposed to be doing an investigation?”

New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D): “I will answer that. I have every confidence in our Attorney General to do what she has always done. Look at the facts, examine the record, and draw the proper conclusions. That’s exactly what’s going to happen in this case. Attorney General, please.”

New York Attorney General Letitia James: “I will not comment on a Facebook post.”

James is being appointed because she will find something — anything — on which to convict the Cornell 7, even if it’s not rape. That’s the approach she took to the Trump family, search as hard as you can until you find something to go after them (she couldn’t find a crime but she found civil charges). You bring James on to the case when you want a conviction, not where you want justice.

If you had any doubt that Hochul is using this case for her campaign, she just said she would propose a law that would make having sex with an intoxicated (not incapacitated) person a potential crime. Pure campaigning.

AOC is also getting in on the act.

So where are we?

We’ll take the same approach we took to other controversial cases — Zimmerman (Trayvon Martin), Darren Wilson (Michael Brown), etc. — follow the evidence wherever it leads.

Putting Letits James on the case is sticking a thumb in the otherwise blindfolded eye of Lady Justice.

Or at least a sucker punch….

In short, Hochul needed a mindless drone to carry out her political prosecution, somebody who follows orders and has a certain appeal to the leftist loons, but disgraced enough that she can be kicked under the bus if she turns into a liability. There was only one possible choice.

“Suddenly I was raped two years ago!”

Kathy Hochul is at least consistent: You can always count on her to do the wrong thing and screw up.

The whole case is disgusting.

While the male students obviously should not have acted as has been alleged, the woman should not have been drinking to excess as she did before heading out for more.

Had she not decided to go to the fraternity house, it’s a safe bet she would have continued drinking elsewhere, and would have been hungover the following day.

What we should be talking about more than anything is the need for personal responsibility. These are supposed to be young ADULTS, capable of acting in a civilized manner even though their parents are not closely watching over them. They are pathetic failures.

But those decisions would require accepting responsibility for your actions, and deny the hedonism. And hedonism is the goal where Progressives are concerned. (Well, that and transgression toward Nature.) Responsibility? Consequences? Where’s the joy and absolute license in that?

See the recently resurfaced interview with Camille Paglia where she states the obvious:
if a young woman goes to a frat house party and sees what’s going on…when she gets invited to go upstairs to the bedroom, she is consenting to the obvious. (my paraphrase).

Letitia James is the worst possible person to take on this case as one of the biggest haters of white men. No good will come of her “investigation” for any of the parties involved. The young woman will rue the day she claimed she was raped, if she hasn’t already.

Talk about stacking the deck. The scales of lady justice are severely out of balance, with these two women running the show. Another bogus show trial in the making.

Why doesn’t someone file a bar complaint? Accepting appointment as a special prosecutor after you have made public statements prejudging the case sure seems unethical to me.

• In 2010 it was Sandra Fluke
• In 2012 it was Romney’s “binders of women”
• In 2014 it was the ‘Me Too” movement / Mattress Girl
• In 2016 it was “Grab them by the pussy” (Trump)
• In 2018 it was E Jean Carroll (Trump)
• In 2020 it was Amy Dorris (Trump)
• In 2022 it was Matt Gaetz, Hershel Walker
• In 2024 it was Jeffrey Epstein et al
• In 2026 it is “The Cornell 7”

Notice a pattern?

What is becoming quite clear is this; if you’re male, avoid women entirely if you are in a Blue Jurisdiction.

I’m starting to wonder if that’s the actual goal here.

it’s simpler and much less nomadic just to avoid Blue women entirely.

I was at the Yavapai County Fair a couple weeks ago for the livestock judging (a friend’s little kids had animals entered). Looking around at the entrants and the people in the stands, it was like I was back in the 1950s (but more stylish). My thought was, this is where smart single guys ought to be looking for relationships instead of bars and clubs.

Bars/club ‘scene’ are pretty dead other than for a hookup. HR, feminism and #metoo made workplace relationships taboo. Churches, mainstream ones anyway, have gone woke bringing in feminist narratives ..look at Talarico as an example of the sort of ‘Pastor’ and beliefs there which often demand ‘forgiveness’ for female ‘hoe phase’ by Male congregants who are urged to marry them. Events like this case among many others show that the kangaroo courts at Universities or belated regrets by a female making accusations despite the evidence not supporting it can/will ruin some Male’s life so College is out too.

Sadly online dating apps have become the most common way relationships begin. Add to that the truly insane ‘standards’ Women have adopted to screen out potential mates; six ft, six pack, six figure income. Just the height and income reduces the pool of Men who posses the in demand characteristics to less than 3% …that’s before we ask if the dude is married, straight, handsome, personable, not a felon or lives within a reasonable distance.

Bottom line, modern dating is really difficult and the entire dating ‘scene’ that many over age 40 experienced in their ’20s/’30s have been largely abandoned. Until we change family court presumptions based on ’50s nostalgia to stop incentives to divorce then rates of family formation and childbirth gonna keep falling b/c more and more Men are opting out of marriage The ROI v very high risk is out of balance and they’ve observed their Fathers, Uncles, older cousins, co-workers get hosed in divorce court. In a decade or less I suspect we’re gonna see calls for special payments to benefit ‘spinsters’, we’re kinda already see it with IVF subsidies. It’s one thing for someone in their ’20s with medical fertility issue but some Woman who didn’t marry and didn’t want to have kids till she’s 35+ and in geriatric pregnancy territory shouldn’t get an IVF subsidy b/c she ignored biological reality.

I don’t know much about this case, nor do I care to. I do know it has the same level of hysterical opinions, false reporting, and obsessive judgement and side taking, as the Lindsay Clancy trial. People don’t stop and think what social media is doing to them; how judgemental, stupid and morose it’s making everyone. It’s like we are all lab rats being electricuted over and over again until we elicit the “correct” response. I wish people would just stop and think about how they are being manipulated and why instead of hyper reacting to every dumb story that comes out. This is a years old case, doesn’t it occur to anyone why now suddenly it’s making news?

If I’m reading it right, it’s not years old. There was a criminal case in which the “victim” testified that she hadn’t been raped. Now sudden she is filing a civil case and changing her story. So it’s making news now because it’s new now.

She was emboldened by the “victimhood” story of Lindsay Clancy that has gone over so well on social media with the morons. Morons will take delight in this new episode of a woman’s “victimhood” made all the more titillating because threesomes (!) three times! Can it get more sickening than this latest carnival side show?

The leftists have a dilemma- support the bimbo’s BS story to further push women’s rights and the feminization of society, or describe this as a family spat among polycule members to hasten the destruction of traditional marriage.

Nope. This young Woman (not a minor child) pursued a sexual liaison and consented to multiple sexual activities. She did so after bouts of binge drinking at her Sorority house, a bar, a second bar then more drinking plus ketamine at the frat house. She confessed her voluntary actions to her Sorority ‘big sister’. She had multiple text and other communication doing the same. She intended to go back to the frat house for ANOTHER party which seems to indicate she didn’t consist it a dangerous place with people who wished to harm her.

This was not a very pretty picture, lots of very questionable activities by everyone involved. Everyone involved had been drinking some with added drug use. Decisions were made by these Adults that I’d say in hindsight they all regret. Not an event to be celebrated but that doesn’t transform these events into ‘rape’ or ‘sexual assault’ either. This young Woman offered up a very different set of facts in her police report. Those were consistent with the texts and other contemporaneous communications at the time. Now she’s decided she was a victim. Nope. I ain’t buying it. Evidence not innuendo and facts not feelings is what our our system requires.

Hochul would “propose a law that would make having sex with an intoxicated (not incapacitated) person a potential crime”? Well that kind of criminalizes just about every relationship. She probably needs to walk that back a little.

It’s only a crime if the woman is intoxicated. The men who were also drunk, are 100% responsible for their actions. Women are apparently incapable of consenting to embarrassing or dangerous actions. Left wing feminists are infantilizing women the same way men and the law did for centuries. Women are emotionally fragile and must be protected from ideas they don’t like, words they find offensive and self destructive behavior.

Well, according to the Left married women can’t get an ID that shows they are U.S. citizens because they are too stupid too even if they don’t change their surname.

The irony is that this case and the Clancy case argue against the tenents of feminism which is that “women are just as rational and capable as men,” except when it is convenient for them to not be, which is any moment of their choosing.

I don’t see any sober guys lining up at Hochul’s door. Oh wait, you mean that it only applies if the female is intoxicated? That opens up a whole new can of worms, as in “can only bottoms file a police report” and who gets to do the consent in a lesbian tryst?” I’d accuse them of not thinking it through, but when have they ever thought anything through, and is thought even an item in their toolbox?

The AG’s statement reminds me of the westerns where someone says we’ll give him a fair trial in the morning and hang him in the afternoon.

A lethal force threat should be met with lethal force (Because we didn’t hang her last time) 🙂

It’ll be a quick trial.

Special prosecutor’s opening statement: We must believe all women.

NY judge: Yes that is correct. All men guilty on all counts; and all sentenced to the maximum punishment possible.

Gavel.

Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime – attributed to either Soviet secret police chief Lavrentiy Beria or Stalinist jurist Andrey Vyshinsky.

Why is NY following the Stalinist model?

I’m waiting for the protests to start so that I can support the boys who are soon to be victims of Letitia James and the effed up judicial system we now have.

Boy L James is a large woman!

Let’s remember that Kathy Hochul is a member of Cornell’s Board of Trustees and as such bears some personal responsibility for the licentiousness that Cornell allows (encourages!) on its campus.

Having a “believe all women” toady investigating this a waste of time. Better to proceed with sentence first so everyone can get home for nice cuppa. Personally I don’t believe all women, and I am 100% sure Jane Doe is a vengeful lying cow. Not just that but that she was coached in just what to say by her roommate and probably others of the hagsquad. Why do I believe this?

I know there has been discussion about the difference in what Jane Doe told Title IX hearing and what she swore to in the account she gave to the D.A. Now there emerges a phone call that was made prior to the report to campus police where Jane Doe tries to entrap Matt Ingalls into admitting she was sexually assaulted. I think she was also coached for this call too. I think Jane knew good and well her participation was voluntary as was any drinking or drug taking. But at this point it was about getting the ones who she had sex with in trouble. It was about revenge. I think it was coached because the language reads like a script from a News Special on The Growing Threat of Campus Sexual Assault. All the right boxes are ticked.

This is the part of the phone call (recorded by Doe without Ingalls knowledge) which affirms for me that the Jane Doe is lying,

“Jane Doe said she ended up in the emergency room and in therapy, telling Ingalls “there’s so much damage on my body and my brain.” She told him he already knew she was “10 shots deep.”

Compare that to her sworn statement to the D.A. Compare it to her account of visiting the clinic or ER (I forget which) for treatment of a UTI where she does say it was a result of trauma (not confirmed with any visit notes) and told to see someone by the treating health care provider. There is also the matter of a statement where older sorority sisters accompanied the underage ones to make sure they did not drink (or at least not get drunk).

If you were raped and finally had someone who could pursue criminal charges against your rapists wouldn’t you bring up the terrible trauma that sent you to seek therapy? Wouldn’t you tell him it could be verified through medical records? Oh but there is more, again from the call,

“Jane Doe said she remembered 4 men in the bed and more standing around the room, telling him she looked up and thought “that is too many people.” In her statement to the DA and I am pretty sure at the Title IX hearing Jane Doe was very sure of the coming and goings in that room. She admitted that anytime she told an activity to stop it stopped. So what was preventing her from telling Ingalls or someone else to make those other standing around leave the room?

Of course the usual “believe all women” hacks view the call as proof that Jane Doe was the victim. When logic shows just the opposite. She is a vengeful, weak, lying, trollop.

This did happen in 2024.
Where was President Biden, USAG Merrick Garland, FBI Director Wray and DOJ prosecutors ?
Apparently, the entire government was tied up servicing Jack ‘ass’ Smith and his “Plasmic Orgasm” probe, so nothing else could be considered.

Another fine mess for Cornell. I see the Cornell Daily Sun has already passed judgment and published the 7 men’s names.

This binge-drinking party stuff has been going on in fraternity and sorority houses for centuries, and incidents like these are the result. This is why parents are afraid to send their daughters away to college.

Whatever the truth is, here is the teaching point, especially for these young men: When you see a young woman incapacitated and in a vulnerable situation, it is your moral responsibility to get her to a safe place-not to take advantage of her.
