Keir Starmer to Step Down as Member of Parliament

“I will now focus on other things and that will be international affairs including defence, security, trade and technology in a fast-changing world.”

Keir Starmer announced he will stand down as a member of Parliament. His press secretary said he will finish his term.

Starmer has served as MP for Holborn and St. Pancras since 2015.

The decision comes two months after Starmer resigned as prime minister.

From Camden New Journal:

He told the New Journal that, after leaving Downing Street at the end of July, he had reflected on what lay ahead and that he was ready to “pass the baton to a successor”, adding: “It has been a huge honour and privilege to represent the best constituency in the country and to have taken over from Frank Dobson, who was such a great constituency MP and a member of the last Labour government. I will now focus on other things and that will be international affairs including defence, security, trade and technology in a fast-changing world.

“I will also continue, as I have done for a long time now with others, work on combating violence against women and girls; that is an issue that matters to me hugely. It’s work I started before I became an MP and it’s work I’m keen to continue after I’m an MP. So international affairs on the one hand, and continuing my work on violence against women and girls on the other.”

Holborn and St. Pancras has elected Labour members since the 1980s. However, the Greens have focused on the inner-London seat recently.

Step down? How about through an open window say about 12 stories up?

The UK needs a revolution. Their government is destroying the history and the people of England.

It would seem as though this is the historical norm for England. Romans, Vikings, etc. etc.

I think that eventually the worm will turn and we’ll witness a very bloody civil war to both vanquish the invaders and to punish the enablers.

Human nature is a very messy thing indeed.

That would be their history. Hopefully there are enough Englishmen to get it done. So many are now in their graves or ‘sheltered housing’.

    And look at ours

We could use one of our own.

Only took him 11 years to read the writing on the wall.

What writing? There wasn’t any and still isn’t. If he had decided to remain in Parliament no one would have even wanted to stop him, let alone been able to. Like most former party leaders who see no prospect of a comeback, he just has no interest in being a backbencher. It’s the same as the way no US presidents, except John Quincy Adams and Andrew Johnson, have been interested in going back into Congress or similar positions. Having climbed Everest they’re not interested in lesser peaks.

Keir Starmer announced he will stand down as a member of Parliament. His press secretary said he will finish his term.

So which is it? His term has three more years to run, unless Burnham decides to call an early election, which he’d be crazy to do.

Other news reports indicate the press secretary was wrong.

“There will now be a process to appoint my successor ahead of a by-election.” So if the press secretary did indeed say that he would finish his term (and no link has been provided to such a statement) then the press secretary was definitively wrong.

Have no worries, British residents! There are many more Keir Starmers chaps out there to replace him, and we’re SURE you will find and elect as many as possible.

What loser company will hire him? Short whoever does although its likely he’ll be hired by a NGO.

“I will now focus on screwing up other things and those will be international affairs including defence, security, trade and technology in a fast-changing world.”

“I will also continue, as I have done for a long time now with others, work on combating violence against women and girls”

This is how I know there is no God — the utter lack of a smoking hole where this lying puddle of puke was standing.

“ work on combating violence against women and girls; that is an issue that matters to me hugely.”

Claims the same POS who did everything he could to flood his country with inbred 7th century primitives.
