Ana Navarro Accused of Violating Broadcast Rules by Urging Viewers to Vote for FL Democrat
“And we can actually knock this woman out. There’s a great guy running. His name is Eliott Rodriguez. Give him a look!”
Ana Navarro of ‘The View’ and ABC News are coming under fire for comments that Navarro made on the air, seemingly urging viewers to vote for a Democrat running for a House seat in Florida.
We all know the hosts of ‘The View’ are rooting for Democrats to win the midterms, but since the show airs on public airwaves, they’re not supposed to say it out loud.
FOX News reports:
ABC’s ‘The View’ co-host Ana Navarro urges viewers to vote for Dem in key Florida congressional race
ABC is facing blowback Monday after “The View” co-host Ana Navarro urged viewers to vote for a Democrat in a key Florida congressional race.
Navarro marveled at the tightening race between incumbent Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar, R-Fla., and her Democratic opponent Eliott Rodriguez in the Sunshine State’s 27th district. Salazar recently made headlines for releasing an ad critical of President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.
The host noted to viewers she lives in that district.
“I had taken for granted this race because she won two years ago by 20 points. And this is a district Donald Trump won by 15 points … but polls have her dead even,” Navarro said.
“So, anybody who lives in Coral Gables, in Miami, in Key Biscayne, in downtown Miami, pay attention to that race and go vote because it’s going to matter,” she continued. “And we can actually knock this woman out. There’s a great guy running. His name is Eliott Rodriguez. Give him a look!”
Critics have accused ABC of “electioneering” and questioned whether Navarro’s comments violate broadcast licensing rules.
“How is this not electioneering? She’s literally telling them who to vote for,” Daily Wire opinion editor Ben Domenech reacted on X.
Now would be a good time to remind everyone that this show is considered part of ABC News. Watch:
Electioneering is a violation of ABC's broadcast license.

This should be the absolute end of ABC’s license. https://t.co/Vjez3USeso

Pull their license. They routinely do this. For that matter pull the licenses of ABC NBC and CBS because their late night programs constantly are political and always one sided. This crap has gotten tiresome.
In this day of cable, and of network TV being available on streaming. pulling their license would hardly mean a thing. The FCC licenses their over-the-air facilities; they have no jurisdiction otherwise.
The over-the-air content probably pulls-in the majority of the advertising bucks which pay for the programming, facilities and paychecks. Hit them where it hurts.
Seriously? You don’t think pulling their license and knocking that tripe off the air would hardly mean a thing? I think you’d be surprised at the uproar and legal battles that would ensue! Even if they had to remove the repugnant “Republican” Anna that would be like murdering your three babies!
It’ll hurt if they give the licenses to conservatives willing to pay and program the station.
Nobody but devoted Leftists watch network news, late night shows, and The View. They are all preaching to the choir. Navarro’s outburst will change nothing. Navarro’s viewers were already going to vote for Rodriguez.
Slap ABC with a big fine. Just because the message isn’t effective doesn’t mean they didn’t break the rules or that they shouldn’t be punished for doing so.
You left one group out: Boomers. My generation grew up on Walter Cronkite, Chet Huntley, David Brinkley, Sandor Van Okur (sp?), Clete Roberts, and even the tail end of Ed Morrow’s era. We believed them because “it’s on TV!”.
Our parents believed that nasty, ugly, loud, strident vile* little man Walter Winchell because, “because it’s in the radio!“.
Not all boomers, just the liberal ones. I’m a boomer, and I haven’t watched any network news since 2020.
I am not trying to play. Can you top this, but I haven’t watched Network broadcasting on a regular basis in probably 25 or 30 years. I’ve subscribed for cable on three different occasions in my life and usually discontinue it within 3 or 4 months. I don’t know who said it but the phrase that comes to mind is” there’s 500 channels and nothing on “.
Democrats Propaganda Ministry for you
The Screw is at it again. It is time for ABC to stop screwing around and shut this crew down. Despicable news maggots.
It seems like a technical violation, not a moral outrage. The right response is to license additional stations on the same frequency. You hear the one you’re closest to.
The “right” response is the one that they will feel.
Adding a few underfunded competitors is nothing.
Hit them with a large fine, and suspend the perp
from being on any over-the-air programming for a year.

rhhardin – below please find the CFR reference regarding electioneering.I think that you are attempting to squeeze nuance into a situation where there is very little room for it given the facts we know.

It’s 33 days to the election.
I am not a lawyer but this isn’t difficult or esoteric lamguage.
Whatever. If anyone actually thinks anything is going to happen to Navarro and ABC you’re nuts. Nothing is going to happen. Nothing ever happens. There is some blowback and howls of outrage and then . . . nothing. The whole incident simply disappears from the media and nothing happens. And if you don’t believe me then think about what’s happened or more specifically hasn’t happened with the contempt charges supposedly filed against Fauci. It’s been at least a month since the Fauci contempt charges were allegedly filed with the DoJ and to date nothing, nothing has come of it. The silence is deafening. And I predict the same will happen here. Much ado will be made of it but when it comes to actually enforcing the electioneering rules nobody in the FCC will have the balls to follow through with it. So if you expect anything to happen don’t be too disappointed when Navarro and ABC go scot free. It happens all the time.
eot
I still think a response is possible, but given how the Left and media (but I repeat myself) will blow anything out of proportion before an election, it makes sense to wait until after the midterms.
Unfortunately you are almost certainly correct given the long history of lack of enforcement particularly v the View. Despite recent tough talk from FCC it hasn’t translated into any true consequences.
But what if the one doing the electioneering on this “news” program is too dirt-bumb woke-stupid to know she’s electioneering?
These harpies will never be shut down. If The View were to go off air (wishful thinking), they would find some other platform and continue to poison the minds of the masses. Wonder what the combined total net worth is of these bints? They can do whatever the F they want.
ABC’s license cannot be pulled because they don’t have a broadcast license anymore than any of the other networks do.
They do own 8 licensed stations in NYC, LA, Chicago, Philadelphia, Houston, San Francisco, and Durham. All the other ABC stations in the U.S. are affiliates, which are owned by different companies.
The FCC licenses broadcasting over the public airwaves with an antenna in a particular location on a specific frequency. “ABC” doesn’t do that, and therefore doesn’t need a license.
