Kamala Harris Craters as Buttigieg Tops 2028 Polls
Kamala Harris may be thinking about another run for president. Democratic voters appear to be thinking about almost anyone else.
Kamala Harris may be thinking about another run for president. Democratic voters appear to be thinking about almost anyone else.
Two recent surveys put former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg at the front of the potential 2028 Democratic field. The uglier numbers for Harris came from Michigan, where she managed just 5.1 percent support, a collapse from the 33 percent she held in national polling as recently as last October.
A hypothetical Democratic primary poll conducted by The Public Sentiment Institute between July 25 and July 29 among 762 likely Michigan voters, reached by text message and matched against the state’s voter file with a four-point margin of error, found Buttigieg leading with 24.2 percent. Undecided voters finished second at 21.7 percent. Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) followed with 13.9 percent, Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) received 10.7 percent, and Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom of California took 10 percent. Harris was far behind them all at 5.1 percent.
More than four times as many voters were undecided as supported Harris.
She was also much closer to Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker at 3.8 percent and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro at 3.6 percent than she was to Newsom. One small consolation for the former vice president: She still finished ahead of Hunter Biden, who somehow collected 1.9 percent.
TPSI put it plainly:
“Undecided finishes second. More than a fifth of this electorate has no 2028 preference at all, and we left every one of them there. A contest more than two years out is exactly where an undecided answer is a result rather than a gap to be filled.”
None of that indecision is breaking toward Harris. She told Rev. Al Sharpton in April she was considering another bid, “I might. I am thinking about it,” and has appeared in early-voting states including Michigan and South Carolina. The polls so far suggest Democratic voters are not thinking about it nearly as hard.
The national numbers don’t offer much refuge either. An Emerson College survey conducted July 19 and 20 placed Buttigieg first with 19 percent, Newsom at 17 percent, and Ossoff and Ocasio-Cortez tied at 13 percent. Harris finished at 8 percent, behind all four, while 13 percent remained undecided.
That erosion has been steady. A separate national poll released in June still had Harris leading the field at 27 percent, but that was already down sharply from 33 percent in October and 31 percent in March.
The 2028 election remains more than two years away, and the large undecided vote in Michigan shows how unsettled the field remains. Harris can keep contemplating another campaign. So far, Democratic voters seem considerably less enthusiastic about reliving 2024.

Heels Up is falling down…
The polls are not taking into account the passage of time.
“The Governor and I and we were all doing a tour of the library here and talking about the significance of the passage of time. Right? The significance of the passage of time.
So, when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires, what we need to do to create these jobs. And there is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children and what that means to the future of our nation, depending on whether or not they have the resources they need to achieve their God-given talent.”
Harris/Walz Redo 2028!
I hope you’re right.
I wouldn’t be so gleeful about seeing Mayor Pete leading a poll even at this distance from the election.
If you’re old enough, you’ll remember a similar circumstance in the wake of the disastrous Carter administration in which there was no obvious front runner.
Then, out of nowhere, came a charismatic, saxophone-playing governor that no one had ever heard of before. Smart dude that gleefully embraced every progressive cause of the day. Would be labeled a far right fascist today.
Without him, we would never have heard of Hillary Clinton, so be careful what you wish for.
You are so right !
People underestimate the ability of some of these nobodies to attract votes.
I don’t think black voters will support Buttigieg, however.
Pothole Pete isn’t smart. He’s also associated with WEF and was both a terrible mayor and secretary of transportation, He also is a dead ringer for Alfred E Neuman and more people would rather vote for Neuman than Pothole.
Ossoff Pritzker and Shaprio will never get the nomination or even be VP. Jews are cooked in the democratic party and any Jew who doesn’t realize this is stupid.
Pete B. doesn’t have a scintilla of Bill Clinton’s charisma and charm. Clinton could actually relate to middle-class voters. Buttigieg cannot. And his homosexuality is a total loser with black, Hispanic and other religiously devout voters, of all faiths.
“Buttigieg Tops 2028 Polls”
May possibly be the first time he has ever topped anything.
And history does have a way of repeating itself.
A wide open field with more than two years to go. Plenty of time for Raum Emanuel to enter the race and give Obama his forth term.
Hard to imagine current dems nominating someone with his heritage.
If legal insurrection wants to know who is gonna win the presidential primary just watch who James Clyburn is supporting.
The ballot harvesting and counters are run by the AME church.
The African Methodist Episcopal (AME) church, has precinct level ballot counting election operations (poll workers) in the key counties [Fulton (GA), Wayne (Mich), Philadelphia and Pittsburgh (PA), Clark (NV), Maricopa (AZ), Dane (WI), etc.] The ballot counting doesn’t need to happen all over the state, just at the key urban county level.
The DNC operation (Obama/BLM network) concentrates heavily on the ballot harvesting. However, when they turn those ballots over to the county level precinct workers, that’s where the AME church network and South Carolina Representative James Clyburn come into play.
The DNC no longer focuses on controlling the Secretary of State or Attorney General approach. With the George Soros machine running the District Attorney level angle the democrats only need to concern themselves with the precinct level poll worker support. Clyburn’s AME network is protected by the willfully blind George Soros DA’s. It’s a one-hand washing the other-hand proposition.
Polls: last week AOC was top of the list with 28% and Buttgig with 27%.. Harris was in the single digits. Polls at this stage are pretty meaningless, but alarming nevertheless. AOC, Harris, or Buttgig are all horrifying thoughts.
I can’t think of a democrat that isn’t horrifying.
Can’t wait to see who the DSA puts up as candidates in a year or so…here’s hoping for a 48 state landslide win for the Republicans.
Kamalala is a placeholder, nothing more. She can’t debate, answer questions, or even express a coherent thought. If there is a real Black candidate in the SC Primary, she is going to get smoked.
Oh goody. America’s First Gay President.
Can’t wait to explain that to the kids.
Just show them the DNC plan chart, it’s almost 30 years old now.
1. First woman president1. First black president
2. First woman president2. First puppet president
3. First black woman president3. First gay president
4. First noncitizen president
5. First nonhuman president
6. First woman president (note: “try trans?”)
The polls that far out are a joke. Polls in general are a joke. Butgig is the last person I would vote for. The party of mental illness really knows how to pick them. All they have is Marxist or queer dogs to pick from.
The polls are interesting but don’t account for the midterm performance in Nov and inevitable continued escalation off combat among the d/prog factions. Not just on a tribal/group identity basis but a philosophical one between hard left radicals v less (at least publicly) radical liberals and across a generational divide as establishment boomer d/prog elders cling to power refusing to give way to younger generations of d/prog who have become intolerant of being repeatedly told to ‘wait their turn’ for decades.
