‘I Hate Mackinac so Much’: El-Sayed Trashes Michigan Hotspot in Resurfaced Clip
“I’m just gonna be like, every time I’ve ever come here, I’ve hated it. Why am I here?”
A resurfaced clip from a documentary shows Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed trashing Mackinac Island, a beloved and historic vacation spot.
The clip comes from “How To Fix A Primary,” a 2020 documentary about El-Sayed’s failed 2018 gubernatorial bid.
“I hate Mackinac so much,” said El-Sayed. “It’s funny because, like, if we win, this is gonna be like, the summer home.”
El-Sayed added, while laughing: “I’m just gonna be like, every time I’ve ever come here, I’ve hated it. Why am I here?”
Sheesh.
Mackinac Island may be a treasured institution to many Michiganders, but not to Abdul El-Sayed.

A private summer cottage built in 1902 has served as the Michigan governor’s summer residence since 1945.
The governor also hosts numerous political events and meetings at the residence.
The island does not allow cars. Horse-drawn carriages, bicycles, and walking are the only modes of transportation.
Mackinac Island grew in popularity after the Civil War. The Grand Hotel became one of the world’s largest summer hotels, boasting the longest front porch with amazing views.
The island kept its charm by preserving its Victorian architecture and banning cars, allowing for a quieter, slower pace of life.
I have no doubt politicians don’t like or enjoy every part of their state. Just….just don’t say it out loud, especially when it’s a treasured part of the state. Not to mention Mackinac Island brings in a ton of tourist revenue.

The guy is a total fraud, hiding his true intentions from the searching, ignorant public. But as seen with flash mobs, it’s easy to manipulate ignorant people to vote. The hard thing is addressing the ignorance. With social media it may be an impossible chore. Time to do a hard sell showing the glories of socialism and show how glorious it has been, from bread lines to right down to the dead bodies. The ignorant need a straight shooting wakeup call and to understand that they, too are targets because, under it all, they crave the opportunity of self-determination over collectivism that strips away the ability to one’s self.

Years ago we were in one of our favorite restaurants near a table of girls who were maybe college age who said “like” every fourth word or so. The Bride started saying “like … like … like” just loud enough for them to hear. I tried to get her to stop but, amusingly, she didn’t (she never listens – heh, heh). A minute later I was doing it, too. The chicks got very quiet.
