Paul Pelosi Under Investigation in Napa County Hit-and-Run

Paul Pelosi, 86, the husband of Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, is under investigation for a hit-and-run crash that occurred Friday afternoon in the Napa Valley town of Yountville. KTVU, the Fox affiliate in San Francisco, reported that Pelosi, who was driving a brown Maserati convertible, struck an unoccupied parked car and left the scene.
According to KTVU, the crash occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. and caused “major rear-end damage” to the parked car and “significant damage” to the front right end of Pelosi’s vehicle.
The sheriff’s office reported: “Pelosi admitted to hitting something, but said he did not [k]now what he had hit, so he kept driving. He drove until his car became disabled and was no longer able to continue driving.”
Additionally, the sheriff’s office noted that alcohol played no role in the crash. “The investigation also determined that no alcohol (.00 on Preliminary Alcohol Screening Device) was detected upon testing, therefore Driving Under the Influence was ruled out.
As per Fox News, although Pelosi faces a potential misdemeanor hit-and-run charge, he was not arrested at the scene. Charges, if any, will be determined after Napa County prosecutors review the case.

A bystander allegedly witnessed “a brown convertible hit an unoccupied parked vehicle before continuing north. Deputies later found the damaged convertible partially blocking a nearby roadway and identified the driver as Paul Pelosi.”

The Pelosi family issued a statement on Saturday that read: “Mr. Paul Pelosi has personally apologized to the owner of the vehicle & assured them that he would take responsibility for the damage to their vehicle. @SpeakerPelosi will not be commenting further on this private matter.”

This is hardly the first time Paul Pelosi has attracted unwanted media attention. You may recall that in May 2022, Pelosi was arrested for suspicion of DUI. After running a stop sign, Pelosi crashed his Porsche into a Jeep on Highway 29 in Oakville, California, causing significant damage to the Jeep. ABC News reported that Pelosi “had a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.082%” and pleaded guilty several months later “to a misdemeanor for driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury.” He was sentenced to five days in jail and three years of probation.

Moreover, in October 2022, Pelosi sustained serious injuries when he was struck in the head with a hammer in his San Francisco residence by David DePape. According to ABC, DePape’s intended target had been Nancy Pelosi, who was in Washington, D.C., at the time. DePape was sentenced in 2024.

Given Pelosi’s previous driving conviction and the controversy that swirled around the infamous hammer attack, Friday’s incident is bound to attract more scrutiny than an ordinary fender bender. Alcohol may have been ruled out this time, but the central question remains: Why did Pelosi strike a parked car and keep driving until his damaged Maserati could go no farther? Napa County prosecutors will now decide whether his explanation is enough — or whether the 86-year-old will once again face criminal charges behind the wheel.

It should be noted that for the earlier collision, the 5 days in jail were were divided as follows: 2 in jail, two off for “good behavior”, and one day of “community service” working a shift in the courthouse. As far as his “probation”, what probation officer would dare violate him?
For this one he will be charged for appearances sake, it will be plea bargained to functionally nothing, and there will be no real penalty. He is related to a member of the Nomenklatura and above such petty things as law under our system.

I am beginning to think that this car hit-and-run incident was likely a suicide attempt, especially after Paul Pelosi learned Nancy’s retirement meant she was returning home permanently.
They did an alcohol screen that was negative. Notice they didn’t get a judge to ok a toxicology screen. I wonder if he was operating a motor vehicle while taking a prescription medication that had a warning not to operate motor vehicles. By not doing what they would have done with anyone else you get a two tiered justice system. Note when Tiger had his latest accident he wouldn’t blow into the alcohol reader. The Sheriff’s department got a court order for a toxicology screen. And that’s how they obtained the evidence of impairment via pharmaceuticals.
That headline should appear thus: …”under investigation…” Because there is no investigation and everyone knows that.
